Protect (often capitalized as PROTECT), or The National Association to Protect Children, is a political organization established in 2002 and dedicated to the protection of children from abuse, exploitation, and neglect. It is a nonprofit, 501(c)(4) membership association with members in every U.S. state and 10 nations. Protect achieved great success in its first three years, winning legislative victories in eight state legislatures. It advocates a nonpartisan "pro-child, anti-crime" agenda, and works closely with both conservative and liberal constituencies and lawmakers.

Cornered (1945 film)

Cornered is a 1945 film noir starring Dick Powell and directed by Edward Dmytryk. This is the second teaming of Powell and Dmytryk (after Murder, My Sweet). Many scenes shot by cinematographer Harry J. Wild and Dmytryk stand out as classic film noir. The screenplay was written by John Paxton with uncredited help from Ben Hecht.

Plot

After the end of World War II, a former P.O.W., Canadian RCAF flyer Laurence Gerard (Powell), returns to France to discover who ordered the killing of his bride of only 20 days, a member of the French Resistance. His father-in-law Etienne Rougon identifies Vichy collaborator Marcel Jarnac. He supposedly died in 1943, but Rougon has strong doubts. Jarnac was so careful about maintaining his anonymity, there is not even a description of him on record. Gerard finds the partially burned front page of a dossier on Jarnac and an envelope addressed to Madame Jarnac in the rubble of the home of Jarnac's closest associate. The return address on the envelope indirectly allows Gerard to track the widow to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

"Cornered" is the sixth episode of the fourth season of the American television drama series Breaking Bad, and the 39th overall episode of the series. It originally aired on AMC in the United States on August 21, 2011.

Plot

The episode opens in the exact same way as "Bullet Points," with two guards riding in the back of a Los Pollos Hermanos refrigerator truck. The truck is suddenly forced off the road by cartel hitmen. The hitmen, led by cartel buttonman Gaff, emerge from their car and shoot the driver in the head. Having learned from their previous mistakes, they lock the guards in the back of the truck, and use a hose to redirect the truck's exhaust into the ventilation system. They then proceed to nosh on the driver's lunch while the guards suffocate to death. Once the guards are dead, Gaff and his men break into the truck, and pick up a marked container of fry batter that contains the meth for distribution.

Skyler (Anna Gunn) realizes that Walter's (Bryan Cranston) voicemail he left earlier declaring his love for her and the family was actually meant to be a last message to them. She realizes Gale's death is related to the meth operation, which leads her to pressure Walt to call the police due to the danger it presents their family. Walter becomes angry and declares himself the most important person in the meth operation; that he is "the danger" and the "one who knocks" when someone opens their door and gets shot. The level of apparent danger causes Skyler to flee the house, taking Holly with her. She considers escaping to Colorado, going so far as to drive to the Four Corners Monument, but ultimately reconsiders.
