Condemned (band)

Condemned are a death metal / deathgrind band from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Biography

The band was started by drummer Willy Taylor and Davey Foster in 1993, but Willy has remained constant throughout the different line-ups the band has had over the years. Guitarist Steve Moore joined the band shortly after its conception. The band, starting out as a heavy-metal band, have developed their sound over the years including influences from old-school death metal, heavy metal, technical death metal, funk, grind and bizarrely for the genre, dance music.

Since the release of their CDs Prelude and Somebody Stop... the band played a number of gigs overseas including shows with Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror and Desecration.

On 4 July 2003 the band was included as part of Terrorizer magazine's Northern Irish scene report.

After some problems with the line-up and the loss of two consecutive practice areas around 2004, Michael Ardill was recruited on bass duties. The band decided to stay as a four-piece and the album, ...And That’s How I Found Them, was recorded between February and March 2005. After the recording, the band embarked upon a full UK tour as main support alongside England's Nailed with Sweden's Visceral Bleeding. The band has also played support slots throughout the UK and Ireland for bands such as Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Necrophagist, Desecration and Pungent Stench.
