Compton Acres, West Bridgford, Nottingham is a housing development located to the south west of the main urban area of West Bridgford, Greater Nottingham, England, on the rural-urban fringe. Compton Acres also borders with the villages of Ruddington and Wilford.
The name Compton Acres is taken from a garden in Poole, Dorset. Many of the streets are named after areas in Dorset, such as Blanford Gardens - named after the famous gardens in Dorset - or after trees, such as Redwood and Acorn Bank.
The architecture of the area is typical for houses of its age, mostly being neo-Tudor or neo-Victorian. The district centre is Compton Acres Shopping Centre, which has a variety of general stores including a Tesco express supermarket as well as a doctors' surgery, dentist, optometrist, Chinese takeaway, Indian Restaurant, hairdresser, pharmacy, two charity shops, pizza shop, the Old Colonial pub and Dibley's cafe. Further up Compton Acres is another pub, The Apple Tree. There are plans for a large Sainsbury's superstore on the site of the old Chateau public house, between The Becket School and Roko Health Club.

Compton Acres is a large privately owned garden in Poole, Dorset, England. It was founded in 1920 by Thomas William Simpson, an entrepreneur who had become wealthy through the manufacture of margarine. The gardens are a popular tourist attraction.
Compton Acres consists of five themed sub-gardens: an Italian garden, a rock and water garden, a heather garden, a Japanese garden and a less formal garden called the "Wooded Valley".
This splendid formal garden is designed to be enjoyed as a spectacle with water, fountains, statuary, topiary and mass plantings providing seasonal colour.
To one side the addition of the Villa adds greatly to the Italian sense of place. The garden features fantastic statues such as Bacchus in his Domed Temple, the Wrestlers of Herculaneum and the old Venetian bronze lanterns.
The mature pine wood has been developed as a woodland garden with winding pathways and dramatic waterfalls.
