Come with Us

Come with Us is the fourth studio album by English big beat duo The Chemical Brothers, released in January 2002 by record labels Virgin and Freestyle Dust in the UK and Astralwerks and Ultra in the US. It features Richard Ashcroft and Beth Orton as guest vocalists.

The album debuted at number 1 on the UK Albums Chart. It was certified Gold by the BPI on 1 February 2002.

Background

The band's second and third albums Dig Your Own Hole and Surrender brought the band international fame. The band had a worldwide tour for Surrender beginning in 1999, continuing until summer 2000 when they played festivals including legendary performances at Glastonbury Festival and Creamfields.

Following the festivals, the band created a new track, premiered in December 2000 when the band supported U2. Tom Rowlands seemed to initially have mixed feelings about the track, saying it had "quite a lot of percussion, big, sweeping sort of stuff. Live conga playing, quite spaced out. It's like Body & Soul, but really, really hard and twisted, it's like high-impact, full-on, but with more organic sounds, and quite intense, without the good vibe." The track was popular with fans, however, and eventually was released as the white label release "Electronic Battle Weapon 5" in June 2001. In the release's dawn, the duo had begun recording a new album, and the track had proved basis for the band's recording of the album.

Fur trapper Brule Conway sets Rin Tin Tin Jr. to guard his furs. The henchmen of a rival trapper use a female dog to lure Rinty away from his post, and then proceed to steal the stash of furs. Rinty sets out to capture the thieves and return his master's furs.

The Test is the 43rd book in the Animorphs series, written by K.A. Applegate. It was ghostwritten by Ellen Geroux. It is narrated by Tobias.

Plot summary

As the book opens, Tobias discovers Bobby McIntyre, a missing child who was hiking through the woods. He leads the boy's father and a search party to his son.

Throughout the book Tobias deals with the psychological after-effects of the torture he endured at the hands of the sadistic sub-visser Taylor. He continues to question his own strength and resolve.

Taylor, claiming she is now part of the Yeerks' Peace Movement, enlists Tobias to try and sabotage the Yeerk pool. All of the other Animorphs, except for Cassie, who declines on moral grounds, accompany him and Ax as they dig a tunnel to the pool. In order to dig a tunnel to the Yeerk pool, Tobias and Ax alternate turns in Taxxon morph, which has a nearly uncontrollable constant hunger. In fact, Taylor has been working for Visser Three, and sets off a gas explosion. Cassie is able to turn off the gas from its control station, injuring several humans in the process. She is once again distraught by the violence she has had to use to save her friends. Taylor is presumably killed in the gas explosion.

"Come with Us"/"The Test" is a double A-side single from The Chemical Brothers' 2002 album Come with Us. The vocals in "The Test" are performed by Richard Ashcroft.

The spoken-word intro from "Come With Us" is sampled from "The Evidence" by Evidence. "The Test" contains a sample from "Pielgrzym" by Polish singer Czesław Niemen, first released in 1972.

In Japan, the two songs were swapped in the single title, making the single's title "The Test/Come with Us".
