Come Sail Away

"Come Sail Away" is a song by American progressive rock group Styx, featured on the band's seventh album The Grand Illusion (1977). Upon its release as the lead single from the album, "Come Sail Away" charted at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and helped The Grand Illusion achieve multi-platinum sales in 1978. It is one of the biggest hits of Styx's career.

Content

Musically, "Come Sail Away" combines a plaintive, ballad-like opening section (including piano and synthesizer interludes) with a bombastic, guitar-heavy second half. In the middle of the second half of the album version is a minute-long synthesizer instrumental break.

Background and writing

Styx member Dennis DeYoung revealed on In the Studio with Redbeard (which devoted an entire episode to the making of The Grand Illusion), that he was depressed when he wrote the track after Styx's first two A&M offerings, Equinox and Crystal Ball, sold fewer units than expected after the success of the single "Lady".

Taylor Henderson

Taylor James Henderson (born 23 March 1993) is an Australian singer and songwriter. Originating from Ceres, Victoria, Henderson rose to fame after placing third on the fourth series of Australia's Got Talent in 2010. Three years later, he became the runner-up on the fifth season of The X Factor Australia and subsequently received a recording contract with Sony Music Australia.

In November 2013, Henderson released his self-titled debut album, which debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association. Additionally, the album included his number-one debut single "Borrow My Heart". The following year, Henderson released his second studio album Burnt Letters, which became his second number-one album and yielded the top-five hit "When You Were Mine".

Early life

Taylor James Henderson is from Ceres, Victoria. He was born on 23 March 1993 with Marcus Gunn Jaw-winking Syndrome. Henderson has an older sister named Bridey and a younger sister named Gemma. Their parents Sonja and Cameron are divorced. Henderson was a member of the Geelong Revival Centre, but has since parted ways with the church. Henderson was a student at Kardinia International College in Bell Post Hill, Victoria and graduated in 2011. He worked as a labourer with his father.

"Sail Away" is a song by the Finnish rock band The Rasmus, originally released on the band's sixth studio album Hide from the Sun on September 2, 2005. The song was written by the lead singer Lauri Ylönen. Sail away has been second in United States single list in 2005.

The music video went #1 at MTV Latino in March 2006. It has also been a popular video on many other music channels in Europe.

The single was released on October 25, 2005 by Playground Music Scandinavia. The cover of the maxi single is different from the original version. The maxi single contains the PC-program "The Rasmus Player". The image in the box to the right is the original cover. It is the second single from the album Hide from the Sun.

"Sail Away" is a slow and melodic song with violin featured. The strings were arranged by Jesper Nordenström and performed by Jakob Ruthberg, Anna S Wallgren, Roland Kress and Christian Bergqvist.
