"Come On" is a song performed by British electronic duo Kish Mauve. The song was written and produced by Mima Stilwell and Jim Eliot for their debut album Black Heart (2009). It released as a double A-side single with "Morphine" on 2 March 2009 by YNYS Recordings.

Will Young version

"Come On" was covered by British singer-songwriter and actor Will Young. It was released on 21 November 2011 as the second single from his fifth studio album, Echoes (2011).

Music video

A music video to accompany the release of "Come On" was first released onto YouTube on 24 October 2011 at a total length of three minutes and twenty-eight seconds.

Critical reception

Robert Copsey of Digital Spy gave the song four stars out of five and a positive review, stating:

Therefore, it comes as little surprise that his latest chart botherer - a rendition of Kish Mauve's 2009 electro-rock hit 'Come On' - is far more than a note-for-note rehash. "Walk away, that's what you do," he bawls innocently over bobbing synths courtesy of Richard X, before defiantly calling "come on, come on" to his contrary lover. In fact, even after repeated listens, Young's lounge-pop reinvention still sounds like a different number altogether.

"Come On" is the 22nd and final episode in the first season of the television series How I Met Your Mother. It originally aired on May 15, 2006.

Plot

Ted, having given up his previous date with his supposedly perfect match, has decided to pursue Robin yet again. Barney (acting on behalf of the Universe) slaps Ted, telling him it's a bad idea. Ted tells them that he will try only one more time, and if it does not work out, he will accept that it is not meant to be. Ted then surprises Robin in her apartment with candy, flowers, and a group of musicians with blue instruments (in reference to the Blue French horn he stole for her on their first date). Robin, while surprised, cannot give Ted a definite answer, especially after he learned that Robin's company camping trip is back on and Sandy Rivers is trying to date her now that he is moving on to CNN. Ted finally accuses Robin of ignoring her true feelings and urges her to "touch the ground", but it fails to win her over. Ted walks out frustrated, but breaks his promise by trying to get Robin again by doing a rain dance. After he convinces Penelope (a girl Barney hooked up with twice) to help him (as she has a Ph.D. in Native American studies), Ted tries to do a rain dance, which ultimately proves successful, and he then goes over to Robin's. Ted yells up to her from the street, telling her to come down (alluding to his previous demands for her to "touch the ground"), and the two finally become a couple.

Green River Ordinance (band)

Green River Ordinance is an American rock band from Fort Worth, Texas, United States. Their name refers to Green River Ordinances, laws which prohibit door-to-door sales unless the house's owner gives permission to do so.

History

Early years

Bassist Geoff Ice and guitarist Jamey Ice are brothers. Early in their career (circa 2003), the band regularly did opening gigs with Flickerstick in Texas, and by 2005 had toured with Collective Soul and played with Eisley and Mutemath, among others. The band's initial releases, a 2005 full-length and a 2007 EP, were both released on the small independent label For Mona. Their debut release for Virgin Records, Out of My Hands, was released in February 2009, and garnered comparisons to 1990s mainstream rock acts such as Sister Hazel,Third Eye Blind and Matchbox 20, as well as contemporaries like Augustana and The Fray.Out of My Hands peaked at #10 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The single "Come On" reached #17 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 late in 2009; the single "On Your Own" reached #37 on the same chart in 2010.

Pilgrim (sandwich)

A Pilgrim or Puritan is a sandwich which has connotations with the American Pilgrim Fathers and Thanksgiving Day. It was a traditional way of using up leftover food from Thanksgiving Day and thus is composed essentially of bread slices or a bap, into which are placed sliced roast turkey, cranberries or cranberry sauce and cheddar cheese. There is an enormous variation in its composition with a huge range of ingredients being employed in some sandwiches and a great variation of ingredients between recipes. At its most basic it can be two slices of bread with slices of turkey, herb stuffing, cranberry sauce and some gravy.

More sophisticated versions of the Pilgrim sandwich include store-bought corn muffins, crusty hoagie, French bread, ciabatta rolls, extra virgin olive oil, butter, chopped apple, chopped onion, celery, flat leaf parsley, Thousand Island dressing and sliced/chopped pickled gherkins for topping.

A well known international magazine poll reported it to be one of America’s favourite sandwiches, the version illustrated included Muenster cheese and lettuce in addition to turkey, stuffing and cranberry chutney.

Pilgrim (Timothy Findley novel)

Pilgrim is a novel by Timothy Findley, first published by HarperFlamingo in Canada in 1999. The first US edition was published by HarperCollins in 2000. The novel is typical of Findley's interest in Jungian psychology; in fact, Carl Jung himself is a major character.

The novel's protagonist is Pilgrim, an immortal who is brought to Jung's clinic in Zürich after his latest failed suicide attempt. Pilgrim has lived through the ages, moving from one life to another, and claims to be tired of living. Jung takes it upon himself to cure what he sees as a delusion and to restore Pilgrim's will to live.

Pilgrim is the inspiration for a contemporary opera, The Dream Healer, composed by Lloyd Burritt, with libretto by Christopher Allan and Don Mowatt. The premiere is planned for March 2008 at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia. It will star mezzo-soprano Judith Forst as Lady Sybil Quartermaine

Pilgrim (Eric Clapton song)

"Pilgrim" is a pop rock song written by the British musicians Eric Clapton and Simon Climie. The duo also produced the song, which came about after a jam session between the two in the late 1990s. The title was recorded for Clapton's 1998 studio album Pilgrim and was released as the fourth and final single of the album. The song was always released as a B-Side to another single and was accopanied by a music video. It is part of the Lethal Weapon 4 soundtrack.
