Esau Mwamwaya is a singer from Lilongwe, Malawi. He is best known for his collaboration, The Very Best with London based DJ/production duo Radioclit. His music has been described as an Afro-Western mix of dance, hiphop, pop and the traditional music of Malawi.

Esau Mwamwaya was born in Mzuzu, Malawi, but grew up in the capital, Lilongwe, where he played drums in various bands.[1] He played with numerous artists including Masaka Band and Evison Matafale.

In 1999 he moved to London and while running a second-hand furniture shop in Clapton, East London, Esau sold a bicycle to the producer from the band Radioclit, Etienne Tron. Radioclit's studio was on the same street as Esau's shop, and eventually, Esau became friends with both Tron and Johan Karlberg aka Radioclit.[1]

In 2008, the three men worked together to create a project known as 'The Very Best', releasing a critically lauded free mixtape through the label GREEN OWL([1]) in collaboration with other indie artists, including M.I.A., Vampire Weekend, Architecture in Helsinki, BLK JKS, Santigold and the Ruby Suns. The songs are sung in Chichewa, the national language of Malawi.[2]

On the heels of the mixtape, The Very Best produced their first full-length album, Warm Heart of Africa, released digitally in August 2009 and released physically in October 2009 by GREEN OWL and Moshi Moshi. The album features collaborations with Ezra Koenig and M.I.A.

The Very Best is also featured on a track on Crookers debut album, Tons of Friends.[3]

  • Come Alive (Paulini album)

Come Alive is the third studio album by Australian recording artist Paulini, released through Fortitude Group under exclusive licence to Ambition Records on 29 May 2015. It is the follow-up to her 2006 album, Superwoman. Paulini describes this album as a labour of love and her most personal album to date. She said "[it] represents my personal struggle over the past few years to find my voice, not only in music but in life".

The album was originally scheduled for release in February 2015, but was delayed to make room for a new song “By My Side” which was released as the second single in May.

Paulini described the album, saying; “It’s a pop album, but it’s more adult contemporary adult pop.” The album debuted at number 25 in Australia.

    Background and development

Paulini travelled for two years travelling throughout USA and Europe writing songs with the likes of Erik ‘Blu2th’ Griggs, Chris Rosa and Philippe-Marc Anquetil.

Paulini co-wrote every track on this album bar one. As a songwriter, Paulini's abilities have garnered great success, having penned chart-topping songs for many international artists, including hits for 'The Voice' winners from France and the Philippines in 2014.

    Come Alive (Paris Hilton song)

"Come Alive" is a song by American recording artist Paris Hilton. It was released as the second single from her upcoming second studio album on July 8 2014, by Cash Money Records. The song was written by Hilton, Corte Ellis, Michael "Mikey P" Puerari, Frederick C. Allen, Chris Richardson, and Rondell Cobbs.

    Background and promotion

"Come Alive" is the latest of the former reality star's upcoming sophomore studio album, which was introduced in October 2013 with the single "Good Time" with Lil Wayne. Hilton promoted "Come Alive" on Tuesday, July 15, sharing links to the music video and thanking fans for their support via Twitter.

    Critical reception

Upon its release, the song received mostly positive reviews. Robbie Daw of Idolator contended, "Come Alive" lives up to its title, as it offers a more mature aesthetic than previous Hilton offerings — and, in all seriousness, she's also showing growth as a vocalist this time around." Lucas Villa of AXS also commended Hilton's serious approach to music, writing, "[s]he puts herself in the pop star lane once again with this dreamy slice of electronica." Elizabeth Freda of E! Online remarked the video as "insanely amazing " in her review, and then went on to list what she called "The Twelve Greatest Moments " of the video, some of the things she praised in the video included Paris' choice of clothing and the scenery.
