Clyde Pharr (17 February 1883 (or 1885) – 31 December 1972), was a Professor of Greek and Latin at Vanderbilt University from 1925–1949 and was head of the Classics department there for many years. After retiring from Vanderbilt, he was appointed Visiting Professor of Classics at the University of Texas at Austin in 1950, was named Research Professor there in 1952, and Emeritus Research Professor of Classics in 1966. He died in Austin on December 31, 1972.
Pharr was born in Evans Point, Texas, the son of Samuel Milton Pharr and Josephine Fleming Pharr. He attended Saltillo High School and earned B.S. and A.B. degrees from East Texas Normal College (now East Texas State University) in 1903 and 1905, respectively. While in college, he became good friends with Sam Rayburn who later was Speaker of the United States House of Representatives for many years. Pharr continued his education at Yale University, earning another A.B. there in 1906. He was named an Abernathy Fellow at Yale and was granted his Ph.D. in 1910. Pharr subsequently studied at the University of Berlin and other European universities, as well as at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.

Clyde Austin "The Glide" Drexler (born June 22, 1962) is an American retired professional basketball swingman. During his career, he was a ten-time All-Star, and named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. Drexler won an Olympic gold medal in 1992 as part of the 1992 United States men's Olympic basketball team ("The Dream Team") and an NBA Championship in 1995 with the Houston Rockets. He is a two-time Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee (being inducted 2004 for his individual career, and in 2010 as a member of the "Dream Team") He currently serves as a color commentator for Rockets home games.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Drexler lived in the South Park area in Houston, Texas, and attended Ross Sterling High School in Houston, where he was a classmate of tennis player Zina Garrison. As a sophomore, he made the varsity baseball team, and of course tried out for the basketball team but failed to make the cut. Drexler played as a 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m) center as a senior. He began receiving attention from college coaches following a 34-point, 27-rebound performance against Sharpstown High School during a 1979 Christmas tournament.

Bates Turkey Farm is a domestic turkey producer founded in 1923 and based near Fort Deposit, Alabama (about thirty miles south of Montgomery, in Lowndes County). A wedding gift of nine turkey eggs was the start of the operation.
The farm is on approximately 900 acres (360 ha) of land and raises free-range turkeys (about 60,000 in 2008) under pecan trees on about 30 of those acres. The farm purchases poults (baby turkeys) from a hatchery in Oakwood, Ohio. The turkeys are fed a diet of "freshly ground corn, oats and soybean meal, along with some vitamins" and each "needs 70 pounds of grain to reach slaughter size". The Bates Farm services customers from a wide range of locations, including many that are far-flung, including California, Oregon, and Alaska. Because it is cheaper to raise turkeys in the Mid-West, nearer where the grain they eat is grown, other turkey farms in the state have gone out of business, leaving Bates as the sole remaining in Alabama, which once had 150 turkey growers. Turkey prices are highly dependent on feed costs—in 2011 Bates had to double his prices after corn got more expensive.

Por este amor en contra corriente.
Por este amor que nadie entiende.
Aveces no conoce fronteras
y se desboca de mala manera.
me arrastra como el agua del rio
entre calor y frio
pero es tuyo y es mio
claro como una noche de luna
de luna llena
pero vale la pena.
Y aveces me lleva tan lejos
donde nunca he estado
aveces se me pierde
y vuelve al rato, entre
calido y frio
este amor es tuyo y mio
Por este amor que nada pretende
por este amor
que pica y se extiende
por ese amor que nace del tiempo
por este amor
que aveces ni yo mismo lo entiendo
Y juega como si fuera un niño
con cara de pillo
Al gato y al raton
Y aveces se me muestra desnudo
tan fragil y puro
que equivocarme lo dudo
Y aveces me lleva tan lejos
donde nunca he estado
aveces se me pierde
y vuelve al rato, entre
calido y frio
este amor es tuyo y mio
Y aveces me confunde el cielo
con la tierra
aveces no se si va o ya regresa
entre calido y frio
