.cl

.cl is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Chile (including Easter Island). It was created in 1987 and is administered by the University of Chile. Registration of second-level domains under this TLD is open to anyone, however, foreign registrants must provide a domestic contact with a RUN, the Chilean national identification number.

Registration of names including accented letters (á, é, í, ó, ú), ñ and ü was opened up in 2005.

Since April 2011, it supports DNSSEC, the zone is signed and so any domain that wants to sign their registers can do it.

Microsoft uses it in a domain hack for its social networking service so.cl.

IPv6 support

In the Hurricane Electric report from May 2012, it appears as IPv6 enabled domain and with nameservers in IPv6.

Clã

Clã is a Portuguese pop-rock band of a mixed nature in terms of style, ranging from moments of pure balladry, through jazzy details, to enthusiastic pop songs. They are currently regarded as one of the best Portuguese bands. They have established themselves as a popular live act and have earned consistently positive reviews.

Biography

The band was formed in November 1992, consisting of Hélder Gonçalves (guitar), Fernando Gonçalves, Manuela Azevedo (voice), Pedro Rito (bass), Miguel Ferreira (keyboards) and Pedro Biscaia (keyboards).

Their first album, LusoQualquerCoisa, was released in 1996. In 1997 they released the album Kazoo.

Their third record, Lustro, was released in 2000. With it they won the Blitz Awards for Best Female Vocal, Best National Band and Best National Album. Lustro was also released in France, and the band played in Paris, Bordeaux and Barcelona.

Interested in art, as a whole, Clã were invited by Porto 2001 – Portuguese Capital of Culture - to compose and play live an original soundtrack for a classical silent movie. The band chose Murnau's Nosferatu (1922).

Chloride

The chloride ion /ˈklɔəraɪd/ is the anion (negatively charged ion) Cl⁻. It is formed when the element chlorine (a halogen) gains an electron or when a compound such as hydrogen chloride is dissolved in water or other polar solvents. Chloride salts such as sodium chloride are often very soluble in water. It is an essential electrolyte located in all body fluids responsible for maintaining acid/base balance, transmitting nerve impulses and regulating fluid in and out of cells. The word chloride can also form part of the name of chemical compounds in which one or more chlorine atoms are covalently bonded. For example, methyl chloride, more commonly called chloromethane, (CH₃Cl) is an organic compound with a covalent C−Cl bond. It is not a source of chloride ion.

Electronic properties

A Chloride ion is much larger than a chlorine atom, 167 and 99 pm, respectively. The ion is colorless and diamagnetic. In aqueous solution, it is highly soluble in most cases, however some chloride salts, such as silver chloride, lead(II) chloride, and mercury(I) chloride are slightly soluble in water. In aqueous solution, chloride is bound by the protic end of the water molecules.
