City
A city is a large and permanent human settlement. Although there is no agreement on how a city is distinguished from a town in general English language meanings, many cities have a particular administrative, legal, or historical status based on local law.
Cities generally have complex systems for sanitation, utilities, land usage, housing, and transportation. The concentration of development greatly facilitates interaction between people and businesses, benefiting both parties in the process, but it also presents challenges to managing urban growth.
A big city or metropolis usually has associated suburbs and exurbs. Such cities are usually associated with metropolitan areas and urban areas, creating numerous business commuters traveling to urban centers for employment. Once a city expands far enough to reach another city, this region can be deemed a conurbation or megalopolis. In terms of population, the largest city proper is Shanghai, while the fastest-growing is Dubai.
Origins
There is not enough evidence to assert what conditions gave rise to the first cities. Some theorists have speculated on what they consider suitable pre-conditions and basic mechanisms that might have been important driving forces.
City government in Washington (state)
There are 281 municipalities in the U.S. state of Washington. State law determines the various powers its municipalities have.
City classes
Legally, a city in Washington can be described primarily by its class. There are five classes of cities in Washington:
First class cities are cities with a population over 10,000 at the time of reorganization and operating under a home rule charter. They are permitted to perform any function specifically granted them by Title 35 RCW (Revised Code of Washington). Among them are Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Vancouver, and Yakima.
Second class cities are cities with a population over 1,500 at the time of reorganization and operating without a home rule charter. Like first class cities, they are permitted to perform any function specifically granted them by Title 35 RCW. Among them are Port Orchard, Wapato, and Colville.
Towns are municipalities with a population of under 1,500 at the time of reorganization. Towns are not authorized to operate under a charter. Like the previously listed cities, they are permitted to perform any function specifically granted them by Title 35 RCW. Among them are Steilacoom, Friday Harbor, Eatonville, and Waterville. In 1994, the legislature made 1,500 the minimum population required to incorporate.
Administrative divisions of Texas
Texas has a total of 254 counties, many cities, and numerous special districts, the most common of which is the independent school district.
County
Texas has a total of 254 counties, by far the largest number of counties of any state.
Each county is run by a five-member Commissioners' Court consisting of four commissioners elected from single-member districts (called commissioner precincts) and a county judge elected at-large. The county judge does not have authority to veto a decision of the commissioners court; the judge votes along with the commissioners (being the tie-breaker in close calls). In smaller counties, the county judge actually does perform judicial duties, but in larger counties the judge's role is limited to serving on the commissioners court and certifying elections. Certain officials, such as the sheriff and tax collector, are elected separately by the voters, but the commissioners court determines their office budgets, and sets overall county policy. All county elections are partisan, and commissioner precincts are redistricted after each ten year Census both to equalize the voting power in each and in consideration of the political party preferences of the voters in each.
About Face (album)
About Face is the second solo studio album by Pink Floyd member David Gilmour. Released in March 1984, it was co-produced by himself and Bob Ezrin. Two tracks, "All Lovers Are Deranged" and the more radio-friendly "Love on the Air", were co-written by Gilmour and his long-time friend Pete Townshend, the main songwriter for The Who (Gilmour composed the music and Townshend wrote the lyrics). The remainder of the songs are credited solely to Gilmour himself. In May of the same year, fellow Floyd counterpart Roger Waters released his first official solo album The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking.About Face reached number 21 in the UK and number 32 in the US and was certified gold by the RIAA.
Recording
The album was recorded in France with engineer Andrew Jackson at a time when Pink Floyd's future was uncertain. It was mixed by James Guthrie at Mayfair Studios in London.
Some of the musicians working with Gilmour were Jeff Porcaro, Pino Palladino, Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord, Roy Harper, Michael Kamen (who also worked on The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking), Sam Brown, and Steve Winwood.
Cruise (film)
Cruise is an upcoming drama film written and directed by Robert D. Siegel that will star Emily Ratajkowski and Spencer Boldman.

Cruise is written and directed by Robert D. Siegel. The film is being produced by Alex Garcia and Laura Walker of AG Capital as well as by Holly Brown and Scott LaStaiti.Principal photography began on October 14, 2015, in New York. UTA Independent Film Group holds the domestic rights to the film and is its financier.
Plot
Set during summer 1987, Cruise focuses on Gio Marchetti (Boldman), a blue-collar Italian-American who is preoccupied with car racing and chasing women. Life starts to change for Marchetti when he meets Jessica Weintraub (Ratajkowski), a "nice Jewish girl" from Long Island who ventures into Gio's neighborhood looking for some action.
Cast
On September 14, 2015 Emily Ratajkowski and Spencer Boldman were announced as the stars of the movie. This will be Ratajkowski's first starring role, after playing supporting roles in Gone Girl, Entourage, and We Are Your Friends.Kathrine Narducci was added to the cast on October 26.
Cruise (aeronautics)
Cruise is the level portion of aircraft travel where flight is most fuel efficient. It occurs between ascent and descent phases and is usually the majority of a journey. Technically, cruising consists of heading (direction of flight) changes only at a constant airspeed and altitude. It ends as the aircraft approaches the destination where the descent phase of flight commences in preparation for landing.
For most commercial passenger aircraft, the cruise phase of flight consumes the majority of fuel. As this lightens the aircraft considerably, higher altitudes are more efficient for additional fuel economy. However, for operational and air traffic control reasons it is necessary to stay at the cleared flight level. On long haul flights, the pilot may climb from one flight level to a higher one as clearance is requested and given from air traffic control. This maneuver is called a step climb.
Commercial or passenger aircraft are usually designed for optimum performance at their cruise speed or VC. The cruising speed depends to a great extent on the engine itself, as any (combustion) engine has an optimum work level, where it will consume the least fuel vs the greatest mechanical output. This is by the way true for any vehicle, and is not just limited to airial vehicles. Generally, a piston engine will run the most efficient somewhere between idle speed and 25% away from full throttle.
