NOM (Korean: 엔오엠; abbreviation of No Other Man) was a South Korean boy band under JM Star Entertainment. They released their first single "누난예뻐", also known as "Pretty Sister", on September 9, 2013 and had their on-stage debut on October 23, 2013 at MBC’s Music Show Champion with five members: A-IN, Yongki, K, Yohan and Hu. On September 4, 2014, it was announced on their official fan cafe that member Hu was officially withdrawing from the group. Their official fandom name is NEYB. The following year Yongki withdrew from the group to focus on solo activities. Jm star announced the addition of two other members at the same time. They were later revealed as Yun and Tyty, the later of which coming from Thailand.
Prior to his debut in NOM, Yongki was a part of South Korean boy band MR.SLAM under the name Yongjin. Leader, A-IN, was a dance teacher alongside MNET's Dancing 9 contestant, Kim Solhee, while Hu was a foreign student in China, where he learned how to speak English. Yohan was in a dance group called "Tonic" where they danced to B.A.P's Warrior, SHINee's Sherlock, TEEN TOP's Miss Right, and more.
Nucleolar protein with MIF4G domain 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NOM1 gene.
Proteins that contain MIF4G (middle of eIF4G (MIM 600495)) and/or MA3 domains, such as NOM1, function in protein translation. These domains include binding sites for members of the EIF4A family of ATP-dependent DEAD box RNA helicases (see EIF4A1; MIM 602641) (Simmons et al., 2005 [PubMed 15715967]).[supplied by OMIM].
Model organisms have been used in the study of NOM1 function. A conditional knockout mouse line, called Nom1tm1a(KOMP)Wtsi was generated as part of the International Knockout Mouse Consortium program — a high-throughput mutagenesis project to generate and distribute animal models of disease to interested scientists.
Male and female animals underwent a standardized phenotypic screen to determine the effects of deletion. Twenty five tests were carried out on mutant mice and three significant abnormalities were observed. No homozygous mutant embryos were identified during gestation, and therefore none survived until weaning. The remaining tests were carried out on heterozygous mutant adult mice and females had an abnormal hair cycle.
Chu or CHU may refer to:
Chuí (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʃuˈi]) is a municipality located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. A border town, it shares its name with sister city Chuy, Uruguay. The two towns constitute one contiguous urban area, divided by a border street called Avenida Internacional, a situation also seen in a few other Brazilian border points, such as between Santana do Livramento (Brazil) and Rivera (Uruguay).
Formerly a village under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Santa Vitória do Palmar, Chuí became the southernmost municipality in Brazil in 1997, when it seceded. It is very close to Brazil's southernmost point, located on a bend of the homonymous river just before its mouth on the Atlantic Ocean, near the hamlet of Barra do Chuí. Both the hamlet and the extreme point itself remained in the territory of Santa Vitória do Palmar after Chuí seceded. Still, Chuí holds the title of the southernmost urban seat of a municipality in Brazil. Its counterparts in the North, West and East are respectively Uiramutã, state of Roraima; Mâncio Lima, Acre; and João Pessoa, Paraíba.
Chu is the pinyin romanization of several different Chinese family names, which including 楚 Chǔ, 储 Chǔ, 褚 Chǔ, 触 Chù, etc.
But in the Wade-Giles romanization system, Chu stands for Zhu (朱) in pinyin, also can refer to several Chinese family names. In Hong Kong and Macao, this is also the spelling for the surname 朱.
The name is transliterated as Sở in Vietnamese
