Chris Penn

Christopher Shannon "Chris" Penn (October 10, 1965 – January 24, 2006) was an American film and television actor known for his roles in such films as The Wild Life, Reservoir Dogs, The Funeral, Footloose, Rush Hour, Corky Romano, True Romance, Short Cuts, The Boys Club, All the Right Moves and Pale Rider and in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Penn was found dead in his condominium on January 24, 2006, at the age of 40. An autopsy revealed the primary cause for his death was "nonspecific cardiomyopathy", a heart disease.

Early life

Penn was born in Los Angeles, California, the youngest of three boys born to Leo Penn, an actor and director, and Eileen Ryan (née Annucci), an actress. His paternal grandparents were Jewish emigrants from Lithuania and Russia, and his mother was a Roman Catholic of Italian and Irish descent. According to Penn's mother, Leo Penn may have had distant Sephardic ancestry, as the family's surname was originally "Piñón". His brothers are actor Sean Penn and musician Michael Penn.

Chris Penn (American football)

Chris Penn (born April 20, 1971 in Lenapah, Oklahoma) is a former professional American football wide receiver who played for six seasons in the National Football League for the Kansas City Chiefs, the Chicago Bears, and the San Diego Chargers. He is son to James Penn of Nowata, Oklahoma. Chris attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College for two years prior to transferring to The University of Tulsa.

Christopher Penn (born June 19, 1963, Dover, Kent) is a retired English cricketer. He was a left-handed lower order batsman and a right-arm fast medium bowler. He played for Kent from 1982 to 1994, when he was forced to retire through injury. He was subsequently awarded a testimonial in 1996.

He was made kent ccc player of the year in 1988 when Kent finished 2nd by one point to Worcestershire in the County Championship taking 88 first class wickets. After his retirement he worked for the ECB in facility development for 5 years before joining. St Edmund's School Canterbury as Head of Boy's Games in the Junior School. He also spent periods of time as specialist bowling coach to Kent ccc and the ECB women's cricket squad under coach Paul Farbrace.

Penn worked for the Transvaal Cricket Council under Dr Ali Bacher in the early 1980 s coaching cricket in the Johannesburg Townships and playing club cricket for Kohinore Cresents, and Wits University and Green Point Cricket Club in Cape Town . He was awarded a Whitbread Scholarship to Perth Western Australia in 1985 Penn also played two Tests and two One-Day matches for England under-19s in 1982 and was a schoolboy international at U15 and u17 level. His uncle Fred Durrant was a professional footballer for Queens Park Rangers, Brentford and Exeter City, later player-managing non-league side Dover.
