Chris Brown (album)

Chris Brown is the eponymous debut studio album by American R&B recording artist Chris Brown, released on November 29, 2005 in the United States on Jive Records. It was a commercial success, certified 2x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for scanning two million in the United States. The album also earned Brown his first two Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 49th Grammy Awards.

Background

Chris Brown was born on May 5, 1989, in Tappahannock, Virginia, started as a rapper, until Brown took pride in his singing. In 2002, at the age of 13, he was discovered at his father's gas station by a production team, who was looking for local talent. In August 2004, Brown, who had adapted the stage name "C-Syzle" and T.J. attracted the attention of Tina Davis, Def Jam Recordings' senior A&R executive, and auditioned them in front of Island Def Jam Music Group CEO Antonio "L. A." Reid.

Afterwards, Reid offered to sign both of them on the spot, but Brown claimed Allen had become "greedy" during the prolonged negotiations that spanned in two months. Davis advised Brown not to sign the deal. Davis later lost her job, due to restructuring, after Island Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella Records merged. On the same day, Brown hired her as his manager and moved in into her New Jersey's home. After weeks of label searching, Brown had a deal with Jive Records, known for their pop and R&B artists, such as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and R. Kelly by Christmas Eve 2005. He also dropped out of tenth grade at his Essex High School in Virginia, in favor of tutoring. Brown then began recording the album in Miami, Florida with Mark Pitts, the Jive's A&R, who has signed Brown to the label. At that point, they have recorded about 50 songs, going into his first album. The album was initially titled Young Love, but the idea was discarded as "too kiddie".

Chris Brown (veterinarian)

Chris Brown (born 11 September, 1978) is an Australian veterinarian, television personality and author. He is best known for his television series Bondi Vet, which began screening in 2009. He is also a regular guest panellist on The Project and a co-host on The Living Room, as well as being a co-host on the Australian series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

Early life and education

Brown was born and grew up in the suburbs of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, where his father was a local vet. He attended Merewether Heights Public School and Merewether High School. He graduated from Sydney University with First Class Honours in Veterinary Science in 2001.

Career

After graduating from university, Brown began work at a clinic in Sydney's North Shore. He travelled to remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory to treat animals.<ref name=cbs

Brown's first television presenting role as a vet was on Harry's Practice in 2003, for which he was nominated for a "Most Popular New Talent" Logie Award. He became a presenter on Channel Nine’s Burke's Backyard in 2004 and made regular appearances on Today. His first book, The Family Guide to Pets, was released in 2005 and sold over 25,000 copies. In 2008, he also began writing a column called "Pet Page" in Woman’s Day magazine and was interviewed on radio stations Triple M and Vega FM.

Chris Brown (cricketer, born 1973)

Christopher Mark "Chris" Brown (27 March 1973) is a former Cook Islands cricketer, who previously played representative cricket for Auckland at New Zealand domestic level. Born in Rarotonga, Brown's early cricket was played for Auckland under-age teams, and he went on to represent the New Zealand national under-19s in several matches as a right-arm fast bowler. Making his first-class debut during the 1993–94 season of the Shell Trophy, he took ten wickets in his debut match, and represented the New Zealand Cricket Academy twice later in the season.

Brown regularly played for Auckland in both the first-class and limited-overs competitions during the mid-1990s, despite the squad also including several international bowlers. However, after the 1997–98 season, he ceased playing for Auckland. Brown resumed his career in the early 2000s for the Cook Islands national cricket team, playing in regional competitions, and going on to play for a representative East Asia-Pacific team. He regularly captained the country of his birth throughout the remainder of the decade, becoming one of the only first-class players to play for the country. After retiring from playing, Brown took up umpiring, and is currently a member of New Zealand Cricket's Umpiring "A" Panel.

Chris Brown (American football coach)

Chris Brown (born July 3, 1974) is an American football coach and former player. He played for Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, from 1992 to 1995. He became the head coach at Fort Hays State in 2011.

Playing career

Brown is a 1996 graduate of Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. As a player for the Gorillas, he recorded 470 tackles in 43 starts during his career at free safety. Brown is one of only three Gorillas to earn All-American honors three times.

As a player, Brown was a unanimous All-American First Team selection his senior year, was named the CNN NCAA Division II National Player of the Year in 1995, and was named to the NCAA Quarter Century Team for all players from 1975 to 1999 at free safety. Brown recorded a record 21 tackles in the NCAA Division II National Championship as a freshman against Jacksonville State and was inducted into the Pittsburg State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.
