Sahir Ludhianvi is the pen name of Abdul Hayee (8 March 1921 – 25 October 1980) who is popularly known as Sahir. Sahir was an Indian poet and film lyricist who wrote in the Hindi and Urdu languages. His work influenced Indian cinema, in particular Bollywood film. Sahir won a Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist for Taj Mahal (1963). He won a second Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist for his work on Kabhie Kabhie (1976) and he was awarded the Padma Shri in 1971. On 8 March 2013, the ninety-second anniversary of Sahir's birth, a commemorative stamp was issued in his honour.
On 8 March 1921, in a red sandstone haveli in Karimpura, Ludhiana, Punjab, India, Sahir was born to a Muslim family. His mother, Sardar Begum, left her estranged husband thus forfeiting any claim to financial assets from the marriage. In 1934, Sahir's father remarried and sued (acrimoniously and unsuccessfully) for custody of his son. Sardar Begum required protection from Sahir's father and suffered financial deprivation. Sahir's place of birth is marked with a small plaque on the building's arched entrance.
Chori Chori (Hindi: चोरी चोरी, English: Surreptitiously) is a 1956 Hindi film directed by Anant Thakur, with music by Shankar Jaikishan and lyrics by Hasrat Jaipuri and Shailendra. The film is an unofficial remake of the Hollywood movie, It Happened One Night and Roman Holiday .Bhagwan Dada, Pran, David, and Johnny Walker have character parts. This was the last film of Nargis-Raj Kapoor, with Nargis doing one cameo appearance in the Raj Kapoor starrer Jagte Raho. The music of Chori Chori had popular tracks including "Aaja Sanam", "Yeh Raat Bheegi Bheegi" in the voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Manna Dey, "Jahan Mein Jati Hun" by Lata and Manna and "Sawa Lakh Ki Lottery," by Mohammad Rafi. The movie was inspired by the 1934 movie It Happened One Night. The movie would later inspire the unofficial 1991 Hindi re-make Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starring Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt. Like 'Chori Chori' it too became a hit.
Kammo (Nargis) lives a very wealthy lifestyle with her widowed multi-millionaire dad, Girhdarilal (Gope), who would like her to get married to someone who is not after their wealth. To his dismay, she chooses to marry a pilot named Sumankumar (Pran), who is known to womanize and for his greed. When he disapproves, she runs away. He advertises for her safe return and offers to pay Rs.1.25 lakh to the finder.
Chori Chori is a 2003 Indian Hindi romantic comedy-drama film directed by Milan Luthria. It stars Ajay Devgan and Rani Mukerji in the lead roles. It is not related to the 1956 Hindi film of the same name. It is inspired by the Hollywood film Housesitter
Khushi (Rani Mukerji) is a careless worker always conning her boss and making excuses to not do her duty. She meets Ranbir Malhotra (Ajay Devgan) and learns that the home he plans to build for his love is now a dream unfulfilled. After being dismissed from her job, she locates the bungalow and moves in, informing everyone that she is Ranbir's fiancée. There she meets Ranbir's family and Pooja (Sonali Bendre), Ranbir's love. When Ranbir returns, at first he is outraged at Khushi's intrusion in his life but then decides to play along with her to make Pooja jealous and fall in love with him. Khushi and Ranbir end up falling in love. However, Khushi's close encounter with reality and Ranbir's old commitments hold them back for a long time before they finally listen to their hearts.
