Chic! is a 2015 French romantic comedy film directed by Jérôme Cornuau.
Chic /ˈʃiːk/, meaning "stylish" or "smart", is an element of fashion.
Chic is a French word, established in English since at least the 1870s. Early references in English dictionaries classified it as slang and New Zealand-born lexicographer Eric Partridge noted, with reference to its colloquial meaning, that it was "not so used in Fr[ench]."Gustave Flaubert notes in Madame Bovary (published in 1856) that "chicard" (one who is chic) is then Parisian very current slang for "classy" noting, perhaps derisively, perhaps not, that it was bourgeoisie. There is a similar word in German, schick, with a meaning similar to chic, which may be the origin of the word in French; another theory links chic to the word chicane. Although the French pronunciation (shēk or "sheek") is now virtually standard and was that given by Fowler, chic was often rendered in the anglicised form of "chick".
In a fictional vignette for Punch (c. 1932) Mrs F. A. Kilpatrick attributed to a young woman who 70 years later would have been called a "chavette" the following assertion: "It 'asn't go no buttons neither ... That's the latest ideer. If you want to be chick you just 'ang on to it, it seems".
Chicá is a corregimiento in Chame District, Panamá Oeste Province, Panama with a population of 713 as of 2010. Its population as of 1990 was 610; its population as of 2000 was 600.
Chic means fashionably "stylish" or "smart".

Chic (/ˈʃiːk/ SHEEK; currently Chic featuring Nile Rodgers) is an American band that was organized during 1976 by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards. Its commercially successful disco songs include "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)" (1977), "Everybody Dance" (1977), "Le Freak" (1978), "I Want Your Love" (1978), "Good Times" (1979), and "My Forbidden Lover" (1979). The group regarded themselves as a rock band for the disco movement "that made good on hippie peace, love and freedom". In October 2014, Chic was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the tenth time.
Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards met during 1970, as fellow session musicians working in the New York City area. They formed a rock band named 'The Boys' and later 'The Big Apple Band,' playing numerous gigs around New York City. Despite interest in their demos, they never got a record contract. They were later in the band New York City which had a hit record in 1973 with '"I'm Doing Fine Now" which charted in the UK. The original demo tapes were made by DJ/studio engineer Robert Drake, who first played lacquer records while DJing at a New York after hours club, Night Owl. New York City would break up in 1976.
Chic is the self-titled debut album by the American R&B band, Chic, released on Atlantic Records in 1977.
It includes the hit singles "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)" - originally released on Buddah Records - (US Hot 100 #6, R&B #6, US Club Play #1, UK #6) and "Everybody Dance" (US Hot 100 #38, R&B #12, US Club Play #1, UK #9). Chic's debut album reached #27 on the US Pop charts, #12 on the R&B charts and was certified Gold by the RIAA, selling more than half a million copies.
Chic was released on compact disc by Atlantic Records/Warner Music in 1991. The album was digitally remastered and re-issued by Wounded Bird Records in 2006 and by Warner Music Japan in 2011.

Est-ce que c'est chic
Ou simplement ordinaire
Est-ce que c'est chic chic
Être en vedette
Est-ce que c'est chic
Ou simplement ordinaire
Est-ce que c'est chic chic
Won't get far
Hangin' at the local bar
Will she ever be a star
And ride around in a fancy car
And buy expensive things
Like furs and diamond rings
All alone she lives her life
In the midst of us
She can't believe her eyes
All the rest of her
And it's the little things
She says to me
Makes me think the girl's
In need of a family
Est-ce que c'est chic
Ou simplement ordinaire
Est-ce que c'est chic chic
Être en vedette
Est-ce que c'est chic
Ou simplement ordinaire
Est-ce que c'est chic chic
It's really strange
Everytime I hear her name
Will she always be the same
Just spendin' life in search of fame
You should see the girl
She's such a crazy thing
Every night it's the same old dream
Rehearsing lines for tomorrow's scenes
But it's real in the morning babe
And it's the little things
She says to me
Makes me think the girl's
In need of a family
Est-ce que c'est chic
Ou simplement ordinaire
Est-ce que c'est chic chic
Être en vedette
Est-ce que c'est chic
Ou simplement ordinaire
Est-ce que c'est chic chic
