A chessboard is the type of checkerboard used in the classic board game chess, and consists of 64 squares (eight rows and eight columns) and 32 pieces. The squares are arranged in two alternating colors (light and dark). Wooden boards may use naturally light and dark brown woods, while plastic and vinyl boards often use brown or green for the dark squares and shades such as buff or cream for the light squares. Materials vary widely; while wooden boards are generally used in high-level games; vinyl, plastic, and cardboard are common for low-level and informal play. Decorative glass and marble boards are available but rarely accepted for games rated by national or international chess federations. Each square on the board has a name from a1 to h8.
According to FIDE equipment standards, the length of side of a square should be twice the length the diameter of a pawn's base.
In modern commentary, the columns (called files) are labeled by the letters a to h from left to right from the white player's point of view, and the rows (called ranks) by the numbers 1 to 8, with 1 being closest to the white player, thus providing a standard notation called algebraic chess notation.
Fortress is a solitaire card game which is played with a deck of playing cards, of the Castle family. It has two more tableau piles than Beleaguered Castle and the piles are shorter.
First, ten overlapping rows of cards are formed, two containing six cards (one on the left and one at the right) and the rest having five cards (four at each side). A space is left in the middle for the aces, which when available, become the bases for the foundations. The foundations are each built up by suit up to kings.
At the tableau rows, the top card (i.e. the fully exposed one) of each row is available for play on the foundations or in the tableau. Tableau building is up or down by suit as the player pleases. However, one card can be moved at a time, and building is not round-the-corner, i.e. aces cannot be placed over kings and vice versa. Spaces can be filled with any available card.
The game is won when all cards are built onto the foundations. But like Beleaguered Castle and its cousin Streets and Alleys, winning is slim because of the distribution of high cards in the tableau.
You are a pretty little girl
I a pretty little world
Wanna get you a diamond
Wanna get you a pearl
[Repeats]
She's beautiful
Her body can't tell she's otherwise
Well I met my wife
Step...
Your body grooves
And all I
You don't know
But I know why
Pretty
Weirdo
Hotly I am the host
I am fool
... well well...
Your eyes are beautiful
I don't care what people say
She's so pretty
Real pretty
Very pretty
Wants your body
Like she's hottie
You are a pretty little girl
I a pretty little world
Wanna get you a diamond
Wanna get you a pearl
[Repeats]
Why you
... jewelry
Perfumes
All of that... in our room
You are a pretty little girl
I a pretty little world
Wanna get you a diamond
Wanna get you a pearl
