Ushkonyr (Kazakh: Үшқоңыр{{#invoke:Namespace detect|main}}; formerly known as Shamalgan, or Chemolgan, Kazakh: Шамалған{{#invoke:Namespace detect|main}}, Russian: Чемолган{{#invoke:Namespace detect|main}}) is a rural community near Almaty in Kazakhstan. It is notable as the birthplace of current Kazakhstani president, Nursultan Nazarbayev^[1]
