Chemerivtsi Raion
Chemerivtsi Raion (Ukrainian: Чемеровецький район, Chemerovets'kyi raion) is one of the 20 administrative raions (a district) of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center is located in the urban-type settlement of Chemerivtsi. Its population was 51,009 in the 2001 Ukrainian Census and 42,722 in 2012.
Geography
The Chemerivtsi Raion is located in the southwestern part of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast, in the modern-day boundaries of the Podolia historical region. Its total area constitutes 930 square kilometres (360 sq mi). To its west, the raion borders upon the neighboring Ternopil Oblast.
History
The Chemerivtsi Raion was first established on March 7, 1923 as part of a full-scale administrative reorganization of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, from the former territories of Vilkhivtsi and Berezhany volosts (a former administrative division roughly equivalent to that of a modern raion).
Administrative divisions
The Chemerivtsi Raion is divided in a way that follows the general administrative scheme in Ukraine. Local government is also organized along a similar scheme nationwide. Consequently, raions are subdivided into councils, which are the prime level of administrative division in the country.
Raion
A raion (also rayon) is a type of administrative unit of several post-Soviet states (such as part of an oblast). The term is from the French "rayon" (meaning "honeycomb, department"), which is both a type of a subnational entity and a division of a city, and is commonly translated in English as "district".
The term "raion" also can be used simply as a kind of administrative division without anything to do with ethnicity or nationality. A raion is a standardized administrative entity across most of the former Soviet Union and is usually a subdivision two steps below the national level. However, in smaller USSR republics, it could be the primary level of administrative division (Administrative divisions of Armenia, Administrative divisions of Azerbaijan). After the fall of the Soviet Union, some of the republics dropped raion from their use (Armenia).
In Bulgaria, it refers to an internal administrative subdivision of a city not related to the administrative division of the country as a whole, or, in the case of Sofia municipality a subdivision of that municipality.
Jinn (band)
Jinn (ジン) is a 4-member Japanese rock band. They are part of SMEJ's Palm Beach record label.
History
The members of Jinn all attended the same high school, and formed the band in Tokyo in the summer of 2003. In March 2004, the band recorded a demo CD, 0~Zero~ (0～ゼロ～), with 500 copies selling out quickly.
After that in 2005, the band recorded a mini album, Kotosabi no Ki (言錆の樹). In August 2006, the single Raion (雷音) was released, which was featured as the final opening theme to the Blood+ anime series. On November 22 the same year, Jinn also released another single, Malachite (マラカイト, Marakaito).
In 2007, Jinn performed the second opening theme to the Sunrise anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Kaidoku Funō (解読不能), which was released on January 31, 2007. Their first full album, Lemmings (レミングス, Remingusu), was released on February 28, 2007. Their second album, Qualia was released on February 6, 2008.
A mini album was released July 2010 entitled 'Engine'.
After 2 years,they returned with 2 singles:Mugen No Hikari/Blue Scale and Rizing.On June 5,2013 the band released its 3rd album,For The Seeker.
