Apple Pugetsound Program Library Exchange

A.P.P.L.E., also known as Apple Pugetsound Program Library Exchange was initially established in 1978 by Val J. Golding. The group provided software, hardware and support services for the Apple world until 1990. Val Golding left the group in 1984 and the group became a Co-Operative in 1985. From 1990 to 2001, the group existed as a user's group only providing support to local northwest computer users. In 2001, Bill Martens began to look into the possibility of preserving the information associated with the company and in contacting many of the former writers, board members and staff, found that there was an interest in preserving and rebuilding the company. Thus in February 2002, this effort began in earnest with the production of Call-A.P.P.L.E. Magazine being restored once again.

A.P.P.L.E. Today

While much of the current group is still based in the Seattle area, production is now handled in Japan and Canada. A.P.P.L.E. is an all volunteer Apple / Macintosh users group. None of the members of the board or of the staff are paid and are dedicating their time to this project for the love of the computer world.

Cheers (season 6)

The sixth season of Cheers is an award-winning American television situation comedy set in a Boston bar called "Cheers". It originally aired on NBC in the United States between September 24, 1987 and May 7, 1988. The show was created by director James Burrows and writers Glen and Les Charles under their production company Charles Burrows Charles Productions, in association with Paramount Television. This season features the debut of Kirstie Alley as Rebecca Howe.

Background

Cheers survived low ratings in the first season and changes to the Thursday evening schedule of NBC's primetime block Must See TV, and retained its regular Thursday 9:00 pm Eastern / 8:00 pm Central slot. In its original broadcast run, 1987–88, Cheers was scheduled against The Cosby Show, A Different World, Night Court, and hour-long drama L.A. Law. An hour-long crime drama Hill Street Blues was moved from Thursdays to Tuesdays in 1986 and ended in 1987 after its seven-year run. The sitcom Family Ties moved from Thursday to Sundays in 1987-88.

Cheers (album)

Cheers is the debut studio album by rapper Obie Trice, released on September 23, 2003 after he was signed to Shady Records in 2000. The title track "Cheers" celebrates Obie's successful debut into the rap game after being in the Detroit underground for many years. The album's title is a homage to the long running NBC sitcom of the same name, and the album cover features a logo similar to that used on the show.

The album consists of 17 tracks, with executive production from Eminem, and additional production by Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Mike Elizondo, Emile, Fredwreck and Denaun Porter. Artists featuring on Cheers include Busta Rhymes, D12, Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Timbaland, and Tony Yayo

Topics Obie has touched on this album include his life on the streets of Detroit, problems with his mother, relationships with women and the soulful reminder that, despite having made it into the mainstream, he has not forgotten his friends.

The album debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 with 226,000 copies sold in its first week and has sold over 2 million worldwide

A retired astronaut decides to head back into space one last time in an attempt to figure out where his life stopped being fulfilling.

Plot

When NASA astronaut Theodore Harris was in space the first time on September 16, 1963, it didn't go quite as planned. Alone in his Mercury capsule, he panicked and aborted the mission when a mysterious violet light penetrated the cockpit and began enveloping his body. In the investigation that followed, no evidence could be found to support his story, leaving a blot on Harris' NASA record and his life in ruins.

And now, at age 63, he knows he can never make amends with his estranged wife Madelaine, but he feels that he could clear his name if he could just get back to where he saw the light. When NASA turns him down, Harris is recruited by Carlton Powers, a self-made billionaire who plans to privatize space travel and thinks Harris' presence on the inaugural flight (on his new Daedalus spaceship) will help him sell the service.
