Charmed was a Norwegian girl band.

Overview

The group Charmed made their debut in the Norwegian national final of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "My Heart Goes Boom". Charmed were three girls in their mid-twenties.

The members were Oddrun Valestrand, Lise Monica Nygård and Hanne Kristine Haugsand. Valestrand is a dancer and an all-round performer. Nygård writes her own lyrics. Haugsand is a dancer and a singer.

After winning the Melodi Grand Prix they represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 and finished in 11th position.

Hanne participated in 2006 as a solo act in the Melodi Grand Prix with "Heaven's in your eyes". She didn't proceed to the final. She also participated in 2010, again without getting to the final.

Lise Monica featured in a duet as a guest vocalist on the drum and bass ballad "Without U" featured on the album Poquito Loco by Costa.

Charmed (Volume 1)

Volume Overview

Volume 1 is from Issue 0 to Issue 5. It is set 18 months after the last episode of Charmed. Set eighteen-months after Forever Charmed, the sisters are now living happy demon free lives and have each entered into motherhood. Piper has had a third child, a girl named Prudence Melinda and is planning on opening her own restaurant. Phoebe has had her first daughter with Coop named Prue and is preparing to return to work. Paige has had twin girls with Henry Mitchell and is also working as a whitelighter and is seen helping Leo at Magic School with his students. Meanwhile two new warlocks named Neena and Hogan begin implementing a plan to revive one of the sisters' greatest foes.

When Piper and Phoebe attend the funeral of Brittany, the first innocent that they ever saved, they discover that she had mysteriously transformed into an elderly woman just as she was when she fell victim to Javna. Meanwhile Paige visits her latest charge, a high school bully named Brent who is a witch. She shows him one of many entrances to Magic School, and informs him of the 48 hour window in which a new witch must decide if they are to be a good witch or turn to the side of evil. As she leaves, the warlocks Neena and Hogan arrive, leaving him dead outside of the school's entrance. Back at the manor, while searching the Book for clues to Brittany's death, Phoebe receives a powerful premonition which shows her that every single innocent and charge saved by the sisters over the past nine and a half years is in grave danger.

Charmed (season 2)

The second season of Charmed, an American supernatural drama television series, began airing on September 30, 1999 on The WB. Airing on Thursdays at 9:00 pm, the season consisted of 22 episodes and concluded its airing on May 18, 2000. Paramount Home Entertainment released the complete second season in a six-disc box set on September 6, 2005.

Synopsis

Like the first season, the sisters fight different forces of evil each episode, and the show continues to focus on how such things impact the sisters' attempt to live normal lives, as far as such is possible.

Darryl Morris becomes a more prominent character as he begins to learn about the sisters' secret lives and helps them out in certain situations. The season also introduces two characters: neighbours Dan Gordon and his niece Jenny.

Piper, becoming frustrated with the limitations of her relationship with Whitelighter Leo Wyatt, is drawn to Dan, creating a love triangle. She opens a nightclub 'P3' which takes over from Quake as a place for the sisters to meet when not at the manor. Phoebe decides to return to school to complete a degree in Psychology and Prue leaves her job mid-season to follow her dream of becoming a photographer. She also has a brief relationship with Jack Sheridan whom she meets at Bucklands before leaving.

Charmed (season 6)

The sixth season of Charmed, an American supernatural drama television series, began airing on September 28, 2003 on The WB. Airing on Sundays at 8:00 pm, the season consisted of 23 episodes and concluded its airing on May 16, 2004. Paramount Home Entertainment released the complete sixth season in a six-disc box set on October 17, 2006.

Synopsis

The sisters travel to a mystical island known as Valhalla to save Leo. After he returns he decides to stay on Earth until he figures out who sent him away making life hard for Piper, who is trying to adjust to her role as a single mother to Wyatt. Leo is extremely suspicious of Chris, who has become the sister's new Whitelighter, and whom they have grown to trust. Piper also deals with an unexpected pregnancy. Whitelighter Chris is actually Leo & Piper's son, that traveled from the future to stop his Piper's death and to make sure that Wyatt does not grow up to become evil.

Phoebe gains the power of empathy, allowing her to feel the emotions of others, and with this ability she can tap into the powers of other magical beings. Her romantic relationship with Jason becomes closer, stronger, and more serious as they decide to live together.

Stratigraphic unit

A stratigraphic unit is a volume of rock of identifiable origin and relative age range that is defined by the distinctive and dominant, easily mapped and recognizable petrographic, lithologic or paleontologic features (facies) that characterize it.

Units must be mappable and distinct from one another, but the contact need not be particularly distinct. For instance, a unit may be defined by terms such as "when the sandstone component exceeds 75%".

Lithostratigraphic units

Sequences of sedimentary and volcanic rocks are subdivided on the basis of their lithology. Going from smaller to larger in scale, the main units recognised are Bed, Member, Formation, Group and Supergroup.

Bed

A bed is a lithologically distinct layer within a member or formation and is the smallest recognisable stratigraphic unit. These are not normally named, but may be in the case of a marker horizon.

Member

A member is a named lithologically distinct part of a formation. Not all formations are subdivided in this way and even where they are recognized, they may only form part of the formation.

1994 Group

The 1994 Group was a coalition of smaller research-intensive universities in the United Kingdom, founded in 1994 to defend these universities' interests following the creation of the Russell Group by larger research-intensive universities earlier that year. The 1994 Group originally represented seventeen universities, rising to nineteen, and then dropping to eleven. The Group started to falter in 2012, when a number of high performing members left to join the Russell Group. The 1994 Group ultimately dissolved in November 2013.

Role

The group sought "to represent the views of its members on the current state and the future of higher education through discussions with the government, funding bodies, and other higher education interest groups" and "[made] its views known through its research publications and in the media".

University Alliance, million+, GuildHE and the Russell Group were its fellow university membership groups across the UK higher education sector.
