Charge (TV series)

Charge was originally produced as a youth television show aimed at showcasing viewer's user-generated content. It was broadcast on the Media Trust’s Community Channel on Sky channel 539, Virgin TV channel 233 and Freeview channel 87 in the UK.

After the second series it was decided to expand charge into a separate youth strand on the Community Channel and it ran in this form for two series.

Content

Targeted at 16- to 25-year-olds, the first two series were dedicated to showcasing viewer's originally produced content and featured a mixture of music videos, drama, comedy and documentary. Series 3 and 4 concentrated on dealing with a different issue each week that affect young people and featured studio guests and series produced by young television producers including The House and True Tube.

Specials

There were a number of special produced for Charge including Street Crime UK – a series of short documentaries from around the UK looking at knife and gun crime, and McConville Reports following a young trainee journalist’s quest to interview the leaders of Britain’s leading parties.

Personal foul (basketball)

In basketball, a personal foul is a breach of the rules that concerns illegal personal contact with an opponent. It is the most common type of foul in basketball. A foul out occurs when a player exceeds his or her personal foul limit for a game and is disqualified from participation in the remainder of the game.

Players routinely initiate illegal contact to purposely affect the play, hoping it is seen as too minor to be called a foul. The threshold is subjective and varies among officials and from game to game. Most contact fouls are not regarded as unsportsmanlike. However, a contact foul involving excessive or unjustified contact is classed as an unsportsmanlike foul (or in the NBA, flagrant foul)

History

Scar (film)

Scar is a horror/crime thriller film. It stars actress Angela Bettis, known for starring in the remake of the horror classic horror film Carrie. It is the first US produced 3D full-length feature film to be completed in HD 3D and the first-ever 3D Video on demand film released for 3D televisions.

Plot

Joan Burrows (Bettis) returns to her hometown of Ovid, Colorado to attend her niece Olympia's (Blanton) high school graduation, but finds herself confronted by her past in the town. Before the graduation is to occur, a young couple goes missing and within a few days a mutilated body is found in the water during a town fish festival. This initiates flashbacks in which Joan's dark past is learned. When Joan was 17, she and her best friend were kidnapped and tortured by a serial killer by the name of Bishop (Cotton). Bishop bound Joan and her friend to an autopsy table where one girl was tortured while the other had the power to make it stop simply by demanding the death of the friend. Joan was able to escape and kill her captor, but was left as the sole survivor of the spree with a scar on her cheek. With the present day's body count rising, questions arise whether Bishop had evaded death or if a new copy cat killer has arisen.

Studio 1 (album)

Studio 1 is the third album by the British girl group All Saints. It was released following a five-year hiatus during which the bandmembers had pursued solo careers.

The first single released from the album was "Rock Steady" which was released on 6 November 2006 and peaked at No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. A second single, "Chick Fit" was a download-only release. The album debuted at No. 40 on the UK Albums Chart. It was certified Gold in the UK.

Background

In October 2000, All Saints released their second studio album Saints & Sinners. It scored the number-one hit singles "Pure Shores" and "Black Coffee" and debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, eventually reaching double platinum certification in the UK for sales of 600,000 copies. In February 2001, they announced that they were to take a break so that they "could clear the air between themselves". Melanie Blatt said later that year that it was uncertain if they would reform, citing their difficulties with the financial and business aspects of the group.Shaznay Lewis later explained that the catalyst for the break-up was a disagreement over who would wear a certain jacket for a photoshoot: "I would never in a million years have put money on the group ending over a jacket incident. But when that incident happened, it fired up so strong, it had to be over. And the way I was then, the state we'd got into then, there was no way she was getting that stupid jacket." In November 2001, London Records released a greatest hits compilation entitled All Hits. The album peaked at number eighteen on the UK Albums Chart and was later certified gold, selling 100,000 copies. On 24 January 2006, it was announced that the band had reformed and signed a record deal with Parlophone.
