Imageboard

An imageboard or image board is a type of Internet forum which operates mostly via posting images. The first imageboards were created in Japan, and many English language imageboards today are centered on Japanese culture. They are based on the textboard concept.

Characteristics

Imageboards, similar to bulletin board systems, are used for discussions of a variety of topics. The primary focus of imageboards, however, is directed away from text posts, and is instead placed on picture posts. The two share many of the same structures, including separate forums for separate topics, as well as similar audiences. Imageboards are much more transitory with content—on some boards (especially highly trafficked ones), the thread deletion time can be as little as 10 minutes. The most popular English language imageboard, 4chan, tends to revolve around Japanese culture such as CG artwork or anime. In Japan, where imageboards are more common, topics vary widely, ranging from trains to current news.

Chen (surname)

Chen ([ʈʂʰə̌n]) or Chan (simplified Chinese: 陈; traditional Chinese: 陳; pinyin: Chén; Wade–Giles: Ch'en) is one of the most common Han Chinese and Korean family names. It ranks as the 5th most common surname in China, as of 2007 and the most common surname in Singapore (2000) and Taiwan (2010). Chen is also the most common family name in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hong Kong (spelt Chan in Hong Kong and Macau). It is the most common surname in Xiamen, the ancestral hometown of many overseas Hoklo. Besides 陳/陈, an uncommon Chinese surname 諶/谌 is also romanized as Chen.

It is usually romanised as Chan in Cantonese, most widely used by those from Hong Kong, and sometimes as Chun. The surname Chen is also used in Hong Kong Cantonese, but not as often. The spelling, Chan, is widely used in Macao and Malaysia. In Min (including dialects of Chaoshan (Teochew), Hainan, Fujian, and Taiwan), the name is pronounced Tan. In Hakka and Taishanese, the name is spelled Gin. Some other Romanisations include Zen (from Wu), Ding and Chern. Chen can be variously spelt Tan, Chan or Chin in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries.

Chan first appeared with the good archomentals in the second edition book Planescape Monstrous Compendium Appendix III (1998).

Description

Chan is an Archomental, the Elemental Princess of Good Air. She is an invisible entity of softly churning air. Though master of calm breezes and gentle sounds, she can rage like a harsh wind or even a violent tornado when she must. She resides on the Elemental Plane of Air, within her floating citadel, the Palace of Unseen Contemplation, where good air elementals, air mephits, djinn, invisible stalkers, air monoliths, sylphs, arrowhawks, air weirds, spirits of the air, ki-rin, hollyphants, shedu, senmurvs, aarakocra, avariel, cloud giants, giant eagles, air genasi, and pegasi revere her. The majority of her worshippers on the Prime Material Plane among the humanoid races tend to be air elemental savants, bonded summoners, druids, good-aligned monks, skylords, skypledged, and air shugenjas.

Kim (footballer)

Carlos Henrique Dias, nicknamed Kim (born June 22, 1980 in Juiz de Fora) is a Brazilian professional football (soccer) player, who currently plays at Joinville in the striker position.

He previously played for Atlético Mineiro in his home country of Brazil, Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia and AS Nancy in France.

Playing career

Atlético Mineiro

Kim started his professional career at Atlético Mineiro at the age of just 20. He played professionally for the club for three years in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A before moving to Saudi Arabia in 2003. Overall he played in 55 league matches for the Belo Horizonte club, netting 10 goals. In his first season he helped the club win their 38th Campeonato Mineiro title.

AS Nancy

Kim arrived in Nancy in 2005 after a short spell in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ahli. Kim arrived at AS Nancy just after they won promotion to Ligue 1 after finishing first in Ligue 2. In his first season at the club he helped them reach the final of the Coupe de la Ligue against OGC Nice. Kim started the game at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis and went on to score the game's winning goal in the 65th minute. He was taken off in the 90th minute to rapturous applause. This propelled the team into the UEFA Cup in 2007 with the club reaching the Round of 16 before being knocked out by Shakhtar Donetsk. Overall Kim's time in France was less successful only netting 11 time in 74 Ligue 1 appearances.

Kim people

The Kim are a people of Chad, who mainly inhabit four villages in the Mayo-Kebbi Est region. The 1993 RGPH census reported a total population of 15,354 in Chad.

Principal economic activities include cultivation of finger millet, taro, and rice, fishing, and pottery.
