Chagrin Falls, Ohio

Chagrin Falls is a village in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States and is a suburb of Cleveland in Northeast Ohio's Cleveland-Akron-Canton metropolitan area, the 15th largest Combined Statistical Area nationwide. The village was established and has grown around a natural waterfall on the Chagrin River. As of the 2010 census, the village population was 4,113. The village was incorporated in 1844 from parts of three townships in two counties. Neighboring Chagrin Falls Township was established in 1845.

History

Chagrin Falls was laid out in 1837. The community takes its name from a waterfall on the Chagrin River in the middle of town.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.14 square miles (5.54 km²), of which 2.08 square miles (5.39 km²) is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 km²) is water.

Demographics

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 4,113 people, 1,872 households, and 1,049 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,977.4 inhabitants per square mile (763.5/km²). There were 2,042 housing units at an average density of 981.7 per square mile (379.0/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.0% White, 0.4% African American, 0.8% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.1% from other races, and 0.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.9% of the population.

Phantom Power (The Tragically Hip album)

Phantom Power is the sixth full-length album by the Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip. The album was released in 1998. It won the 1999 Juno Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Album Design. The song "Bobcaygeon" won the Juno Award for Single of the Year in 2000.

The song "Escape Is at Hand for the Travellin' Man" is a tribute to Jim Ellison of Material Issue. The band recorded the song "Something On" while stuck in the studio during the ice storm of 1998.

Commercial performance

Phantom Power debuted at No. 1 on the Canadian Albums Chart with 108,000 units sold. The album has been certified Triple Platinum in Canada.
