CBF-FM

CBF-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Montreal, Quebec.

Owned and operated by the (government-owned) Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, it broadcasts on 95.1 MHz from the Mount Royal candelabra tower with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts (class C1) using an omnidirectional antenna. Its studios and master control are located at Maison Radio-Canada in Montreal.

The station has an ad-free news/talk format and is the flagship of the Ici Radio-Canada Première network which operates across Canada. Like all Première stations, but unlike most FM stations, it broadcasts in mono.

History

CBF went on the air on December 11, 1937, as the CBC launched its French-language network (Radio-Canada). CBF replaced CRCM, a station operated by the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission on 600 kHz in alternance with CFCF. CBF operated on 910 kHz using 50,000 watts full-time with an omnidirectional antenna as a clear channel (class A) station. The transmitter was located in Contrecoeur.

CBF-FM-8

CBF-FM-8 is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Trois-Rivières, Quebec.

Owned and operated by public broadcaster Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as part of the French-language Société Radio-Canada system, it broadcasts on 96.5 MHz using a directional antenna with an average effective radiated power of 66,700 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 100,000 watts (class C1).

The station has an ad-free news/talk format and is part of the Ici Radio-Canada Première network, which operates across Canada. Like all Première stations, but unlike most FM stations, it broadcasts in mono.

The station signed on in 1977 as a full-time rebroadcaster of CBF in Montreal. Before then, Radio-Canada programming had aired on private affiliate CHLN. However, despite Trois-Rivières' large size, the CBC opted not to open a full-fledged station in the city. It became a separately licensed station in 2000, while retaining a rebroadcaster-like callsign. However, for all intents and purposes, the station is a CBF semi-satellite. It has its own morning drive show (Chez nous le matin, Monday to Friday from 6 to 9 a.m.) and simulcasts CBF's drive time afternoon (Le 15-18) and Saturday (Samedi et rien d'autre) programming; Chez nous le matin is also heard on public holidays on most Première outlets in Quebec, except Montreal, Quebec City and the Outaouais region.

CBF-FM-10

CBF-FM-10 is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Owned and operated by the (government-owned) Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (French: Société Radio-Canada), it broadcasts on 101.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 35,000 watts (class B) using an omnidirectional antenna.

The station has an ad-free news/talk format and is part of the Ici Radio-Canada Première network, which operates across Canada. Like all Première stations, but unlike most FM stations, it broadcasts in mono.

The station first went on the air in the early 1980s as a rebroadcaster of CBF in Montreal. For many years, Radio-Canada programming had aired on privately owned affiliate CHLT. However, in 1979, CHLT received permission to disaffiliate from Radio-Canada as soon as Radio-Canada could set up its own station there. Despite Sherbrooke's large size, the CBC opted not to open a full-fledged station there at first.

However, in 2000, the CBC received permission to upgrade its Sherbrooke operation to a full-fledged station, despite retaining a rebroadcaster-like call sign.

Honda CBF125

The CBF125 is a motorcycle manufactured by Honda's Indian subsidiary HMSI.

The motorcycle is known as Stunner in the Indian market. In India, it has two variants, the carburetor version simply called Stunner and the fuel-injected version called Stunner PGM-FI. In European, Chinese, Singaporean and Malaysian market, only the fuel injected version is available.

The bike went on sale in early December 2008 in the UK. The CBF125 replaced the CG125, a model which had been in production for more than thirty years.

Honda CBF1000

The Honda CBF1000 is a family of sport touring motorcycles with water-cooled, 4-stroke, 1000 cc inline, 4-cylinder, engines which are based on the CBR1000RR Fireblade engine. The CBF1000 has a steel frame also based on the frame of another model, the CBF600. Produced by Honda Italia Industriale S.P.A. the CBF1000 was first available in March 2006, mainly in the European market.

The chief designers, Ishu Akari and Magnus Jaderberg, targeted riders over 30, that prefer smooth progressive acceleration combined with a relaxed riding position and easy handling. In comparison to the high-revving characteristic of the CBR1000RR’s engine, the CBF1000's engine has a more level power delivery, better suited to touring and relatively inexperienced riders. Although peak power and peak torque are significantly lower than the CBR1000RR engine, power and torque are higher in the lower rev range. The CBF1000 has programmed fuel injection (PGM-FI). Anti-lock braking is an option but a combined half-fairing is standard. The handlebars, seat height, and screen height are adjustable.

Ogden Point

Ogden Point is a deep water port facility located in the southwestern corner of the city of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Its location in the historic and beautiful city on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, by the Strait of Juan de Fuca not far from Vancouver and Seattle, US, has made it an attractive cruise ship destination. It also serves as a ship repair and supply facility for cruise ships and other vessels such as deep sea cable laying ships. Ogden Point also has a heliport with frequent service to Vancouver Harbour, Vancouver International Airport, and Seattle. The port lies at the eastern entrance of Victoria Harbour. For smaller boats there is boat ramp for trailerable boats.

The cruise ship facility is scheduled to handle 226 ship visits in 2010, with 23 ships carrying up to 3,000 passengers each from ten cruise lines expected to call between late April and early October. Most visits are single day or evening visits from liners cruising to Alaska from Seattle, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, but there are also cruises of the Pacific Northwest, often including Vancouver and/or Seattle, along with cruises to Hawaii and around the world.
