"Guilt" is a song by British dubstep trio Nero. It was released as a digital download on 22 April 2011 by Chase & Status' record label, MTA Records. This song is featured on Nero's debut studio album Welcome Reality.

Critical reception

The song has been generally well received, with Lewis Corner of Digital Spy rating it "5 stars" and naming it a "speaker blowing tune".Zane Lowe named the single in his Hottest Record blog, calling it "Epic blockbuster dubstep". Amy Dawson of the Metro said that the track manages to "meld a feathery female vocal with a low-slung, wibbling beast of a chorus that should steamroller through stadiums".

The single "Guilt" made its first appearance on the UK chart on 1 May 2011, when it debuted at number 8. The single spent one week in the top 10, sliding to number 15 on its second official week in the chart. "Guilt" spent a total of seven weeks in the top 40, falling out on 19 June 2011. The single also reached peaks of number 2 and number 4 on the independent chart and dance chart respectively – although they have since been removed from archives.

Guilt (2009 film)

Guilt (Greek: "Ενοχή" 2009) is a feature Greek - Cypriot film, directed by the Greek director - writer and producer Vassilis Mazomenos. It was awarded in 2012 with the Best Screenwriting and Best Photography award in London Greek Film Festival (U.K.) and was official selection in Montreal World Film Festival, Cairo International Film Festival, International Film Festival of India, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, Fantasporto and opening film in the Panorama of European Cinema in Athens. In 2010 was Nominated for the best film from the Hellenic Film Academy. In 2010 the film received the Best Soundtrack (George Andreou) for Greek movies of the year. As Vrasidas Karalis wrote in the History of Greek cinema: "His later films Remembrance (2002) Words and Sins (2004) and Guilt (2010) received many positive reviews and international recognition; especially the last in which Mazomenos explored narrative cinema through a nightmarish and confronting story."

Cauterization

The medical practice or technique of cauterization (or cauterisation, or cautery) is the burning of part of a body to remove or close off a part of it, which destroys some tissue in an attempt to mitigate bleeding and damage, remove an undesired growth, or minimize other potential medical harm, such as infections when antibiotics are unavailable. The practice was once widespread for treatment of wounds. Its utility before the advent of antibiotics was said to be effective at more than one level:

Cautery was historically believed to prevent infection, but current research shows that cautery actually increases the risk for infection by causing more tissue damage and providing a more hospitable environment for bacterial growth.

Actual cautery refers to the metal device, generally heated to a dull red glow, that a physician applies to produce blisters, to stop bleeding of a blood vessel, and for other similar purposes.

Cauterize was an alternative rock band from Canada, active from 1995 to 2007.

In 2003, Cauterize’s first single Something Beautiful was released, with its only music video, was broadcast on the web site muchloud.com. Its second and third singles Choke and Killing Me were used in Nintendo's 1080 Avalanche video game and commercials, with a hidden live video within the game.

Also in 2003, Cauterize recorded its 3rd CD, So Far From Real, produced by Murray Daigle. The band toured with Evanescence, Three Days Grace, and Hoobastank. It ceased touring, but in 2005 produced an independently released second album, Paper Wings, the band having left Wind-up Records. The same year, the band's personnel was augmented with guitarist Chuck Coles (previously of Murder Culture). Coles subsequently played in heavy metal band Brown Brigade, (with ex-Sum 41 guitarist Dave Baksh), and has started a southern rock collaboration with Cauterize drummer Matt Worobec.

Cauterize (album)

Cauterize is the second studio album by Tremonti, a band fronted by Creed and Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti. In addition to Tremonti, who provides both lead vocals and guitar, the album features rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Eric Friedman and drummer Garrett Whitlock. It is the first Tremonti album to feature Wolfgang Van Halen, who replaced Brian Marshall as the band's bassist after the release of the band's first album, All I Was, in 2012. Cauterize was released on June 9, 2015 in the United States. The album was set to release in Australia on June 5 but saw an earlier release by a day, thus being released on June 4, 2015.

Reception

Cauterize was released to critical acclaim. Revolver gave it 3.5 out of 5, saying of the album, "Like 2012’s ‘All I Was,’ ‘Cauterize’ is another successful fusion of thrash metal, soaring solos and Tremonti’s powerful post-grunge vocals". About.com stated, "Tremonti is in control as a frontman, slinging out devilish riffs and passionate vocals. Cauterize is not just for fans of the guitarist or his other projects, but those that love music that is both aggressive and infectious" and gave the album 4 out of 5 stars.Ultimate Guitar gave the album 8.3/10 and said they felt like the album had a lot more sonic variety than expected, and they found themselves impressed with things they weren't even expecting from Mark Tremonti, including "the deep and introspective nature of the lyrics, some of the softer and slower passages, and the awesome vocal performance." However, they thought Wolfgang Van Halen's playing was a weak point on the album.
