CASA 3000

The CASA 3000 was a proposed turboprop aircraft aimed at the regional airliner market. The project was proposed by Construcciones Aeronáuticas SA (CASA) during the early part of the 1990s.

CASA initially proposed that it would feature a fuselage based on that of the Russian Ilyushin Il-114, mated to a wing based on the Saab 2000's wing, which was being produced by CASA for Saab. CASA proposed that the fuselage of the Ilyushin Il-114 be stretched to allow for 70 passenger seats. Changes to the Il-114's fuselage design would also be made, necessary to conform to differing airworthiness regulations existing outside the Soviet Union.

After talks with Ilyushin broke down, CASA then announced the aircraft would feature a fuselage of its own design. Despite predicting a market for up to 1,000 aircraft of its class, CASA abandoned the project without any aircraft being built.

CASA C-202 Halcón

The CASA C-202 Halcón was a twin-engine transport aircraft, constructed by CASA.

The Halcón was designed for use on Spain's international air routes. It had tricycle landing gear and a heated/air-conditioned cabin which could accommodate fourteen passengers. Twenty aircraft were initially ordered, and delivered to the Spanish Air Force with the designation T.6.

Sports (Tokyo Jihen album)

Sports (スポーツ, Supōtsu) is the fourth studio album by Japanese rock band Tokyo Jihen, released on February 24, 2010 in Japan through EMI Music Japan and Virgin Music. The album was produced by the band and Japanese recording engineer Uni Inoue.

On December 10, 2010, it was announced that "Sports" was named the iTunes Rewind 2010 Best Album of the Year in Japan.

Background

This is the first Tokyo Jihen album since 2007's Variety and vocalist Ringo Sheena made a comeback to a composer in the album. In 2008, Sheena focused on a string of releases to celebrate her 10th anniversary since her solo debut, such as a B-side collection, a singles box set and a string of concerts. In 2009, she released a new single, "Ariamaru Tomi", and an original album, Sanmon Gossip.

Recording and production

Tokyo Jihen wrote Sports feature the theme of sports as the title. Band members got together, each bringing some demos which they each created imaging sports. They built instrumentation from demos in the recording studio and Sheena put words on them other than Ukigumo's tracks.

Sports, the Canadian indie rock music group, formed in Toronto, 2007. Nathan Rekker, Robin Hatch, Michael Small, Shayne Cox, and later, Pete Carmichael - have also been members of bands The Carnations, The Meligrove Band, By Divine Right, The Diableros, Detective Kalita, Sheezer, and Polmo Polpo, among others.

History

Sports began as Rekker's bedroom recording project with roommate Small on Toronto's Brunswick Avenue in 2004. The band's lineup solidified in late 2006, playing their first show as Sports: The Band in January 2007. Their first tour was through Atlantic Canada in October 2008, headlining a showcase at the Halifax Pop Explosion festival. That December they released a five-song EP produced by Peter Chapman through online record shop Zunior. The CD edition was pressed in March 2009, with a release party at Toronto's Sneaky Dee's. The front and back cover art was created by Sharon Pazner in Jerusalem and shipped to Toronto to be photographed. Another east-coast tour followed in fall 2009, Hatch's last with the band, ending with two shows at the Halifax Pop Explosion festival.
