Carroll Avenue is a railway station in Michigan City, Indiana, serving the South Shore Line commuter rail line. For reasons of road access and parking, it, rather than the 11th Street station (also located in Michigan City but in the middle of a public street), is the city's primary commuter station for South Shore Line service. Some of the early morning and late night South Shore trains (and, as of November 2009, half of the weekend trains) terminate at this station.
On June 2009, NICTD officials announced their intention to close this station, on an unspecified future date, as part of their plan to revamp the street-running section of the line on 10th and 11th streets within Michigan City. However, as of June, 2012, the line relocation is still in planning and the Carroll Avenue station remains active.
The station's address is 503 North Carroll Avenue, Michigan City, Indiana.
Carroll Avenue is a street situated in Los Angeles, near Echo Park. It is in Angelino Heights, one of the older neighborhoods of Los Angeles. It consists of Victorian-era houses within a picturesque neighborhood, which has served as the backdrop for countless motion pictures from the earliest days of cinema to the present.
Carroll Avenue is one of Los Angeles' first suburbs, and bears its name well, as it brings the city many tourists and visitors. The houses, or rather Victorian manors, are now used as private homes, as they were in the 19th century. Some of the more well known residents from the Victorian era include: merchant Aaron P. Philips in 1887, real estate agent Charles C. Haskin in 1894, and warehouse operator Michael Sanders in 1887. One of Los Angeles' first City Councilmen, Daniel Innes, resided at 1329 Carroll Avenue.
The house at 1345 Carroll Avenue was used in the final scene of Michael Jackson's Thriller.
The house at 1329 Carroll Avenue was used as main location in the supernatural dramedy television series Charmed.
