Monster Clown

Monster Clown (Born February 24, 1976) is the ring name of a Mexican Luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. He is best known as part of Los Psycho Circus in Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) along with Psycho Clown and Murder Clown where they portray a trio of "evil clowns". They are currently in their second reign as the AAA World Trios Champions. Monster Clown's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. While his real name has not been revealed it has been established that he previously worked under the ring names Highlander and Aliens before becoming a part of Los Psycho Circus. In the summer of 2009 he was forced to change his ring name from Zombie Clown to Monster Clown due to copyright problems.

Professional wrestling career

The wrestler who would later be known as Monster Clown began his professional wrestling career in 1997 as the enmascarado (masked wrestler) "Highlander" working primarily in and around the Tijuana, Baja California area. He some times worked on Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) shows when the promotion ran shows in Tijuana, but was not a full-time member of the roster. In 200X he began working more for AAA as AAA owner Antonio Peña came up with a new ring character for him called "Aliens". The "Aliens" character was that of an actual alien from space who had come to earth to wrestle. He was even given a mascota (a Mini-Estrella companion) called "Mungo". The odd duo joined up with Madrox and Kriptor to form the group "Los Alienigenas" and worked a feud with the colorful duo of El Alebrije and Cuije. When Peña died in the fall of 2007 the Aliens character quickly dropped as it did not fit with the direction the new management wanted.

Aliens (soundtrack)

The score to the 1986 James Cameron film Aliens was composed by James Horner. The score itself includes musical references to Gayane's Adagio from Aram Khachaturian's Gayane ballet suite, which had been used in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). The score also uses musical motifs, sound treatments and excerpts from Jerry Goldsmith's original soundtrack to Alien (1979). Additional cues taken from Jerry Goldsmith's Alien score were used in the climax of the film when Horner was unable to finish some cues to Cameron's satisfaction. The film's editors also reportedly altered the score's chronological flow, sometimes looping, truncating or removing the music and placing it in fragmented form in the film out of context. Despite production issues, it was nominated for an Academy Award in 1986. It was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. The soundtrack album was released the following year, in 1987.

Aliens (Tappan Wright novel)

Aliens is a novel by Mary Tappan Wright. It was first published in hardcover by Charles Scribner's Sons in March, 1902. It was Wright's first published novel and second published book. It was reprinted by Kessinger Publishing, LLC, in June, 2007.

Reception

According to its review in The New York Times, the novel presents "a wonderfully graphic picture of the South as it is to-day. A picture vivid with the descriptions of the violent antagonisms which still sway that unhappy region, pathetic in the portrayal of the misery of the negroes, and full of charm in the lovely pictures of the soft beauty of the Southern savannahs. ... No one can read the book without learning much of the beautiful and unhappy South land, of which most Northerners are ignorant ..."

Artwork (album)

Artwork is the fourth studio album by American alternative rock band The Used, released through Reprise in the United States and the UK on August 31, 2009.

Writing and recording

The Used began writing for Artwork in early 2008, and originally hoped to enter the studio shortly after Kevin Lyman's 2008 "Get a Life Tour" with Weezer front-man Rivers Cuomo as producer of the album. The Used expressed their interest in the raw sound found on Weezer's 1996 album Pinkerton, and hoped to create a similar sound by working with Cuomo. The band ended up working with producer Matt Squire (Panic! at the Disco, Boys Like Girls, The Receiving End of Sirens) and did not enter the studio until the end of 2008.

The Used experienced several changes upon making Artwork. The band changed management within their label Reprise Records. This was the first album with new drummer Dan Whitesides; also the first studio album that was not produced by Goldfinger's frontman John Feldmann. Feldmann had been working with The Used since lead singer Bert McCracken threw a demo on stage during a Goldfinger concert in 2001. Commenting on the band's state prior to these changes, guitarist Quinn Allman felt that, "we were kept in a space with our resources that was creating an essence for our band that wasn't who we truly were." These changes allowed The Used to take their music in a new direction with Artwork.

Artwork (also known as art layout drawing) is a type of drawing that serves a graphical representation of an image for its reproduction onto a substrate via various processes, such as silkscreen, label making and other printing methods. Transfer of the image often involves a photographic process.

Historically, some types of artworks were prepared on clear polyester drafting film or similar media for strength, durability and dimensional stability. Modern artwork may be stored electronically, such as those created in Adobe Illustrator file format (.ai).
