Caps lock

Caps Lock is a button on a keyboard that changes if a letter should be capitalized or not. It is located in the position of a similar Shift lock key (and sometimes a Ctrl key) found in some other keyboard layouts.

The actual Caps Lock behaviour depends on the operating system and driver as well as the chosen local keyboard layout. On non-IBM compatible computers it may also depend on the keyboard hardware itself.

User interface

Typical Caps Lock behaviour is that pressing the key sets an input mode in which all typed letters are uppercase by default (i.e. in All caps). The keyboard remains in Caps Lock mode until the key is pressed again.

Several variants of this behaviour exist:

In some keyboard layouts, the status of the Caps Lock key only changes the meaning of the alphabet keys (verbatim as per capital shift lock), not that of the number row, which then still requires the Shift key to be pressed to reach the alternative key definitions.

Depending on the keyboard layout used, holding down the shift key while Caps Lock is already on is either ignored (because all keys are already shifted), will also shift keys which are not being shifted by Caps Lock alone (see above) or effectively invert the shifting status of each key, so that where Caps Lock shifts all keys, pressing Shift will temporarily switch to lowercase again, whereas on a keyboard where Caps Lock only shifts alphabet keys, pressing Shift will temporarily switch the alpha keys to lowercase while shifting the number row as normal. Some keyboard layouts implement a fourth variant, where Shift will temporarily invoke two different sets of alternative key definitions depending on if Caps Lock is currently active or not. The inverting behaviour of the Shift key is the most common variant on English keyboards.

Caps Lock (album)

Caps Lock (stylized as CAPS LOCK) is the fourteenth studio album by the Japanese electronica duo Capsule, released on October 23, 2013, by Warner Music Japan's sublabel Unborde as their first album release under the label. It was released digitally by iTunes on October 16, 2013. Caps Lock debuted at number seven and thirteen of the Oricon Daily and Weekly Albums Chart, respectively, with 11,805 copies sold in its first week of release.

Background, production and promotion

In early 2013, the duo left Yamaha Music Communications, effectively shutting down the Contemode sublabel by releasing the best-of albums Rewind Best 1 & 2 in March as their last release from the label. On July 31, 2013, AsobiSystem (the duo's new management agency) and Warner Music Japan sublabel Unborde joined forces by releasing a compilation album AsobiTunes, which had new and old songs from different Asobisystem and Unborde artists. Yasutaka Nakata had contributed four tracks to the compilation: a new song entitled "Rainbow", a remix of Rip Slyme's "Nettaiya", an extended mix of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's "PonPonPon" and Meg's "Secret Adventure". On August 3, 2013, the duo announced that they had officially signed with Unborde. A new album was announced, with details disclosed on August 29, 2013, with a promotional photo, album title and release date. On September 10, 2013, the covers and tracklist for the album were revealed.

Oeyo

Oeyo (於江与), Gō (江), Ogō (小督) or Satoko (達子) : 1573 – September 15, 1626) was a prominently-placed female figure in late-Sengoku period. She married three times, first to Saji Kazunari, her cousin, then to Toyotomi Hideyoshi's nephew Toyotomi Hidekatsu. She had a daughter named Sada with Hidekatsu, but she died due to an illness. Her third and last husband Tokugawa Hidetada became the second Tokugawa shogun. She was also the mother of his successor Iemitsu, the third shogun. She had Senhime, Tamahime, Katsuhime, Hatsuhime, Takechiyo (Iemitsu), and Tadanaga. Hatsuhime was adopted by Oeyo's sister Ohatsu, who is the wife of Kyogoku Takatsugu.

Hidetada's changing fortunes affected Oeyo's life as well. Surviving record books from merchants of luxury goods provide insight into patterns of patronage and taste amongst the privileged class of women like Oeyo and her sisters.

Genealogy

Oeyo, also known as Ogō, was the third and youngest daughter of the Sengoku period daimyo Azai Nagamasa. Her mother, Oichi was the younger sister of Oda Nobunaga.Toyotomi Hideyoshi became the adoptive father and protector of Oeyo in the period before her marriage.
