"Can We Talk" is the title of a number-one[1] single by singer Tevin Campbell and composed and produced by Babyface. It was the first single to be released from his double platinum second release I'm Ready. The song hit top ten on the pop charts peaking at number nine on the Hot 100 and spent a total of three weeks at number one on the US R&B chart.[2] The song was also Nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance - Male. It was also nominated and later won the Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Single - Male ("Can We Talk"). Cover versions of the hit song were done by The Whispers and Sanchez.This song was also revived by British boyband Code Red in 1996.[3] And more recently by Japanese/Korean singer 'June' in 2008.[4]

Sanchez (singer)

Kevin Anthony Jackson (born 30 November 1964), better known as Sanchez, is a Jamaican reggae singer and record producer. He is best known as Billboard reggae songs such as "Frenzy", "One In A Million", "I'm Missing You", "I Can't Wait", "Fall in Love", "Loneliness", "Never Dis Di Man", "In Your Eyes" and "Pretty Girl". He started as a singer in 1987.

Biography

Born in Kingston, Jackson grew up in the Stony Hill and Waterford areas. He was given the nickname 'Sanchez' due to his football skills - a reference to a footballer of that name. He sang from an early age in the Rehoboth Apostolic Church choir in St Catherine. After working with several Kingston sound systems, first as selector for the Rambo Mango sound system, he began recording and had his first hit with "Lady In Red", recorded for producer Red Man in 1987. By 1988 he was one of Jamaica's most popular singers, and at his performance at Reggae Sunsplash that year he was called back for six encores. He had further big hits with "Loneliness Leave Me Alone", produced by Winston Riley, and with his version of Tracy Chapman's "Baby Can I Hold You", which was included on the Philip "Fatis" Burrell-produced Number One album (1989). He has worked with several of Jamaica's other top producers, including King Jammy, Bobby Digital, and Donovan Germain.

    Charmbracelet

    Charmbracelet is the ninth studio album by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey, released on December 3, 2002 through MonarC Entertainment and Island Records. The album was her first release since her breakdown following the release of her film Glitter (2001) and its accompanying soundtrack album, both of which were critical and commercial failures from the previous year. Critics described Charmbracelet as one of her most personal records, following 1997's Butterfly, Throughout the project, Carey collaborated with several songwriters and producers, including Jermaine Dupri, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, 7 Aurelius and Dre & Vidal.

    According to Carey, love is the album's main theme, and the songs combine introspective and personal themes with celebration and fun. The album contains a mixture of pop ballads and R&B beats, and the songs incorporate elements of other genres, such as gospel and soul. Compared to Glitter, which featured a variety of sampled melodies from the 1980s, Charmbracelet has a more softer hip hop and R&B sound to it. Cam'ron, Jay-Z and Freeway also appear on the album.
