Can't Stop Me

"Can't Stop Me" is a song by Dutch house producer Afrojack in collaboration with Shermanology. The song was written by Afrojack, Dorothy Sherman, Andy Sherman, Tearce Kizzo, and co-produced by Afrojack along with the latter two. The single was released on January 23, 2012 through Afrojack's Wall Recordings (via Spinnin' Records).

Dutch DJ Tiësto provided an exclusive remix of the song which was included on his Club Life: Volume Two Miami CD. The song's instrumental hook was re-created in the song "Rest of My Life", performed by Ludacris featuring Usher and David Guetta.

Music video

A music video to accompany the release of "Can't Stop Me" was first released onto YouTube on May 1, 2012 at a total length of three minutes and twenty-one seconds. An alternate version of the same video uses the Afrojack & Buddha edit of the song, and has a length of three minutes and thirty-six seconds.

"Death Wish" was released as the third official single on March 24, 2009 and features Lil Wayne. The fourth and final single "Who's Real" was digitally released on May 5, 2009, released for airplay on June 9, 2009 and officially released on June 16, 2009. The album was given positive to mixed reviews from music critics.

"Can't Stop" is a song performed by After 7, issued as the fourth single from the group's eponymous debut album. It is the group's highest charting single, peaking at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1990. The song also became the group's second #1 R&B single, as well as peaking at #25 on the dance charts.

"Can't Stop" was certified Gold by the RIAA on February 7, 1991.

Can't Stop is a compilation of American R&B early recordings attributed to singer Ashanti released first in 2004.

Compilation Released Without Ashanti‘s Consent

"Can't Stop" features material that Ashanti (born Ashanti Douglas) recorded on July 15, 1997. The tapes resurfaced in September 2004 and was re-mixed and mastered by Genard Parker and Ernie Lake.

Ashanti claims she recorded the material for demo-shopping purposes and never intended the recordings to be released to the public.

Further, on two of the tracks she only sings background vocals, while on another she is not performing at all.

Ashaniti filed suit to stop distribution. In addition to Genard Parker (and possibly Ernie Lake), Big Records Australia, Farm Records, Unique Corp., Simply Vinyl, Team Entertainment, ZYX Music and others are named as defendants in the lawsuit. The album has a street date of February 21, 2005.

Genard Parker, sued Ashanti for breach of contract and the jury awarded $630,000. When Ashanti got a record deal, he let her out of the contract she signed with him, with the understanding that he'd get to produce some songs for her and earn royalties. Although the jury took Parker’s side, they didn’t give him everything he asked for. He had sued Ashanti for $2.2 million.

Stop Me

Stop Me is a compilation album by English band The Smiths. It compiles the band's then-latest (but not last) three singles and their B-sides in reverse-chronological order. Stop Me was released in January 1988 by their Japanese record company, RCA Victor.

About the album

In 1987 The Smiths' UK record company, Rough Trade, planned to release three singles from the newly recorded Strangeways, Here We Come album. In August 1987 "Girlfriend in a Coma" was scheduled to be released as planned when news broke that the band had split up. This presented Rough Trade with a problem as no new material would be available to complement the other singles on their B-sides. It was decided to release the singles as planned, using archive material for B-sides. Singer Morrissey remained involved in the singles' sleeve design.

The second single off Strangeways, Here We Come was scheduled to be "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before", an up-tempo pop-rock song. The song contains the lines

and Rough Trade deemed it unwise to release the song in the wake of the Hungerford massacre, fearing a BBC Radio ban. In the UK, "I Started Something I Couldn't Finish" was chosen instead, but other countries (United States, Canada, Australia, Netherlands) opted to keep "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before", releasing it in 7", 12" and CD single formats.

"Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" is a 1987 song by The Smiths.

Smiths original

The Smiths' song, written by the usual combination of Morrissey and Johnny Marr, came out on the group's 1987 album Strangeways, Here We Come.

The song was originally supposed to be released as a single and a music video was filmed by the director Tim Broad, and opens with a picture of the poet Oscar Wilde hanging on a brick wall, and features scenes of the group-iconic Salford Lads Club and surrounding areas being bicycled through by the lads and friends. Because of a reference to "plan a mass murder" in one lyric it was banned from daytime airplay by the BBC because of the then recent Hungerford massacre, so the band decided not to release it in the UK, however it was released in various other regions including North America, Europe, Australia and Japan.

"Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" was subsequently included on the compilation album Stop Me and on The Very Best of The Smiths. The song is also included in the music game Rock Band 3.
