COPE, an acronym for Cadena de Ondas Populares Españolas ("People's Radiowaves of Spain Network") is a private, right wing, commercial, Spanish radio network owned by a series of institutions within the Spanish Catholic Church. COPE was admitted as an active member of the European Broadcasting Union in 1998.
It is the home of Así son las mañanas, its most popular broadcast, a mostly politics-related, morning talk show presented by Ernesto Sáenz de Buruaga.
Its editorial guideline is the promotion of the views of the hierarchy of the Spanish Catholic Church.
