Cablevision

Cablevision Systems Corporation is an American cable television company with systems serving areas surrounding New York City. It is the fifth-largest cable provider and ninth-largest television provider in the United States, with most customers residing in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and parts of Pennsylvania. From 2011 to 2013, the corporation also served approximately 300,000 customers in Colorado, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming under the Optimum West brand until it was sold to Charter Communications in 2013. Cablevision also offers high-speed Internet connections (Optimum Online), digital cable (Optimum TV), and VoIP (Optimum Voice) phone service (the eighth-largest telephone provider in the U.S.) through its Optimum brand name. As of February 2015, Cablevision also offers a WiFi-only mobile phone service dubbed Freewheel.

On September 17, 2015, Netherlands-based Altice announced its intention to acquire Cablevision from the Dolan family for $17.7 billion. The deal is expected to close in 2016, pending approval from the FCC and United States federal regulators. Under the terms of the deal, Altice has offered $34.90 in cash for each share in Cablevision and a 22% premium to the company's stock price; Altice will also assume Cablevision's debt.

    Izzi Telecom, S.A.B. de C.V. is a telecommunications operator owned by Grupo Televisa based in Mexico City. It was the first pay TV operator to offer Triple play (telecommunications) in Mexico City. It currently offers: Cable TV, Broadband Internet, Telephone, HDTV and TiVo (One official distributor in Mexico). Before November 3, 2014 it was known as "Cablevisión".

    Company History

    2010 decade

  • In 2010, it began to offer HD channels. It started to offer service to private companies & business under the brand "Cablevision Business".
  • In 2012, the package names are replaced by the brand Yoo. Internet service is offered by optical fiber.
  • In 2013, it began to offer the service TV Everywhere under the brand VEO Cablevision, which allows subscribers to watch movies and series on their mobile devices.
  • In 2014, it closed its operations as Cablevisión in October 31, 2014. By November 1st, 2014, unveils its new name IZZI (Izzi Telecom), offering telephony and internet and with the option to add Cable TV service, as driving with Cablevision, and later, mobile telephony, being Izzi an MVNO operating under the Movistar network with the alliance between Televisa and Movistar (Telefónica), after the first sold its participation in Iusacell. The main difference between the new company, and the old one are the new fees launched by Izzi, offering new options to compete mainly with Telmex (América Móvil).
