Cecil Taylor (playwright)

Cecil Philip Taylor (1929 –1981), usually credited as C. P. Taylor, was a Scottish playwright. He wrote almost 80 plays during his 16 years as a professional playwright, including several for radio and television. He also made a number of documentary programmes for the BBC. His plays tended to draw on his Jewish background and his Socialist viewpoint, and to be written in dialect.

Personal life

Taylor was born on 6 November 1929 in Glasgow and grew up in the Crosshill district of Govanhill, in a politically radical Jewish family with strong ties to the Labour Party. His parents immigrated from Russia. He left school at 14 and began his working life as a radio and television repairman.

In 1955, when he was 26, he met his first wife, Irene Diamond, in a drama group. In order for them to afford to marry, he took a job as a record salesman in Newcastle, the city where his mother had grown up. He and Irene lived there, in Fenham, for many years and had two children, Avram and Clare.

Cut, copy, and paste

In human–computer interaction, cut and paste and copy and paste are related commands that offer a user-interface interprocess communication technique for transferring data. The cut command removes the selected data from its original position, while the copy command creates a duplicate; in both cases the selected data is placed in a clipboard. The data in the clipboard is later inserted in the position where the paste command is issued.

The command names are an interface metaphor based on the physical procedure used in manuscript editing to create a page layout.

This interaction technique has close associations with related techniques in graphical user interfaces that use pointing devices such as a computer mouse (by drag and drop, for example).

The capability to replicate information with ease, changing it between contexts and applications, involves privacy concerns because of the risks of disclosure when handling sensitive information. Terms like cloning, copy forward, carry forward, or re-use refer to the dissemination of such information through documents, and may be subject to regulation by administrative bodies.

2C2P

2C2P is a Singapore-headquartered pan-ASEAN payment services company. It was founded in 2003 by Aung Kyaw Moe, an entrepreneur from Myanmar who is based in Singapore and Thailand. In addition to establishing 2C2P, Aung has also co-founded Paysbuy, a Thai payments company, in 2004.

2C2P works with financial institutions, e-commerce and m-commerce merchants. It is headquartered in Singapore and has offices across Southeast Asia, including in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Thailand, as well as in Hong Kong.

The company processed over $2.2 billion in transactions in FY2014. 2C2P has received financial backing from venture capitalists Amun Capital, GMO Venture Partners and Digital Media Partners. 2C2P was listed by Deloitte as one of only three Singaporean businesses, and among the fastest growing regional technology companies in the 2013 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Awards. In 2015, it was named among the Top 25 payment startups by CB Insights, alongside Square Inc., Stripe (company), Adyen.

3C-P

3C-P is a psychedelic phenethylamine. It has structural and pharmacodynamic properties similar to the drugs mescaline, proscaline, and amphetamine. Little information exists on the human pharmacology of 3C-P, but a psychedelic dosage appears to be 20-40mg, and is accompanied by stimulant effects. It can be synthesised from syringaldehyde.
