New Age was an influential leftist newspaper in Johannesburg operating from 1953 to 1962. It was formed with the co-operation of a number of left-wing groups in the area; New Age received the assets of the communist Jewish Worker's Club, which had been liquidated in 1948.[1] The newspaper later received support from a committee of the anti-apartheid South African Students' Association.[2]
From the start, New Age published fiction and poetry as well as journalism. The newspaper had a prize for fiction depicting the oppressions of apartheid,[3] and introduced several important politically aware poets, most notably Keorapetse Kgositsile, who became the literary voice of the South African anti-apartheid movement while in exile in the United States.
In its journalism, New Age was aligned with the African National Congress, particularly the older generation of the ANC leadership.[4] It was sympathetic to labour movements and to militant leftists of all stripes. New Age was shut down by the government in 1962.

New Age (The Velvet Underground song)
"New Age" is the fifth song on the 1970 The Velvet Underground album Loaded. It is one of the songs that feature Doug Yule on vocals, encouraged by main singer and songwriter Lou Reed. The song also appears on 1969: The Velvet Underground Live, with Reed on vocals, singing an earlier, significantly different version of the lyrics.
In its original form, it was about Reed's girlfriend at the time, Shelley Albin, and included a possible reference to Reed's bisexuality: "It seems to be my fancy to make it with Frank and Nancy." The later, studio version is written from the point of view of a fan addressing a "fat blonde actress."
When the album was released, this song caused controversy. Reed, who had left the band a month before, stated that his original versions of "Sweet Jane", "Rock and Roll", and "New Age" were corrupted. Doug Yule, on the other hand, insists that Reed's mixes were respected.
The 1997 Fully Loaded issue of the Loaded album includes an alternate version of "New Age", subtitled "full-length version". It is about a minute longer than the LP version.
Kylie Minogue
Kylie Ann Minogue, OBE (/ˈkaɪliː mᵻˈnoʊɡ/; born 28 May 1968), often known simply as Kylie, is an Australian-born singer, songwriter, and actress. She achieved recognition starring in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, where she played tomboy mechanic Charlene Robinson. In 1992, she left PWL and signed with Deconstruction Records and where she created her self-titled studio album and Impossible Princess, both of which received positive reviews from critics. Returning to more mainstream dance-oriented music, Minogue signed to Parlophone and released "Spinning Around". Her 2001 single "Can't Get You Out of My Head" became one of the most successful singles during the 2000s, selling over ten million units. It is recognised as her "signature song" and was named "...the catchiest song ever" by Yahoo! Music. Her album Fever (2001) was a hit in many countries, including the United States. Throughout her career, Minogue has released many successful singles, including "The Loco-Motion", "Especially for You", "Hand on Your Heart", "Better the Devil You Know", "Confide in Me", "Spinning Around", "Slow", "2 Hearts" and "All The Lovers".
Difluoroacetylene
Difluoroacetylene, C2F2, is a compound of carbon and fluorine. A linear molecule, its two carbons are joined by a triple bond and have terminal fluorines: F-C≡C-F. The molecule is the perfluorocarbon analog of acetylene, C2H2. Preparation of difluoracetylene is difficult, with danger of explosions and with low yields. Nevertheless, the compound has been made, isolated, and characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy. The compound is of interest as a precursor to fluoropolymers containing double bonds, analogous to polyacetylene.

Comet Yi–SWAN
Comet C/2009 F6 (Yi–SWAN) is a non-periodic comet which appeared in March 2009.
It was first discovered by Korean amateur astronomer Dae-am Yi on March 26, 2009, using a Canon 5D camera and 90-mm lens. It is believed to be the first comet discovered by a Korean in the modern age. Independently, on April 4 Rob Matson reported he had discovered a comet in the SWAN instrument photographs on the SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) spacecraft website.
The comet was not bright enough to be seen by the naked eye, but was theoretically visible through amateur telescopes. However, it was harder to see than predicted, as it remained quite small and did not form much of a visible tail. It reached a peak magnitude around +8.5 in April into May, and passed 1.5 degrees south of the Double cluster in Perseus on April 23.

Hexafluoroethane
Hexafluoroethane is a fluorocarbon counterpart to the hydrocarbon ethane. It is a non-flammable gas negligibly soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol.
Physical properties
Hexafluoroethane's solid phase has two polymorphs. In the scientific literature, different phase transition temperatures have been stated. The latest works assign it at 103 K (−170 °C). Below 103 K it has a slightly disordered structure, and over the transition point, it has a body centered cubic structure.

Uses
Hexafluoroethane is used as a versatile etchant in semiconductor manufacturing. It can be used for selective etching of metal silicides and oxides versus their metal substrates and also for etching of silicon dioxide over silicon. The primary aluminium and the semiconductor manufacturing industries are the major emitters of hexafluoroethane.
Together with trifluoromethane it is used in refrigerants R508A (61%) and R508B (54%).
