Jorja Fox

Jorja-An "Jorja" Fox (born July 7, 1968) is an American actress and producer. She first came to prominence as a recurring guest star on the television medical drama ER, portraying the recurring role of Dr. Maggie Doyle from 1996 to 1999. This was followed by another critical success in the recurring role of Secret Service Agent Gina Toscano on The West Wing in 2000. She has played Sara Sidle in the police procedural drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, both as a regular (2000–2007, 2010–2015) and recurring (2008–2010) cast member.

Early life

Fox was born in New York City. She is the second child born to Montreal-born parents of French, Belgian and Irish descent, and was raised on a narrow barrier island in Melbourne Beach, Florida. She describes herself as being overweight while growing up, with a prominent gap between her teeth. By her 20s, she observed that neither her wisdom teeth nor braces had appreciably helped, and Fox said "forget it."

After attending Melbourne High School for two years, she began a modeling career after winning a local contest. She subsequently enrolled as a drama student at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, under the tutelage of actor William Hickey.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (also referred to as CSI) is an American police procedural drama television series that premiered on CBS October 6, 2000. The series, starring William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Laurence Fishburne, Ted Danson, and Elisabeth Shue, is the first in the CSI franchise. The series concluded on September 27, 2015, with a two-hour TV movie entitled Immortality.

Plot summary

Mixing deduction, gritty subject matter, and character-driven drama, CSI follows Las Vegas criminalists (identified as "Crime Scene Investigators") working for the Las Vegas Police Department (LVPD) (instead of real-life "Crime Scene Analysts" and "Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department" (LVMPD)) as they use physical evidence to solve murders. The team is originally led by Gil Grissom, CSI supervisor for the grave shift and a forensic entomologist, and his second-in-command, Catherine Willows, a single mother with a cop's instinct. Born and raised in Vegas, Catherine was a stripper before being recruited into law enforcement. Replacing Grissom is D.B. Russell, who has come to the team after heading the Seattle Crime Lab. His number two is Julie Finlay, a CSI III and a blood pattern expert who previously worked with Russell in Seattle. She replaces Willows. Like Catherine, she is a blood-spatter expert with extensive knowledge of criminal psychology. With their team, they are on the case 24/7, scouring the scene, collecting the evidence, and finding the missing pieces that will solve the mystery.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (season 9)

The ninth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation premiered on CBS on October 9, 2008 and ended May 14, 2009. The series stars William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger and Laurence Fishburne.

Plot

As the team grieve for their fallen colleague ("For Warrick"), Grissom makes a life changing decision ("One to Go"), during the ninth season of CSI. Also this season, Sara investigates the death of a woman attacked nine years ago ("The Happy Place"), new CSI Riley Adams joins the team ("Art Imitates Life"), and she and Nick witness a store robbery on Halloween ("Let it Bleed"), Grissom attends the trial of the Miniature Killer ("Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda"), and an infamous serial murderer brings Dr. Raymond Langston face-to-face with the CSI team ("19 Down"). As Catherine adjusts to life as the team's leader, she investigates the bizarre, the brutal, and the unlikely, including an S&M related murder ("Leave out all the Rest"), an arson-homicide ("The Grave Shift"), the murder of an FBI agent ("Disarmed and Dangerous"), death-by-toothpaste ("Deep Fried and Minty Fresh"), and a Mexican wrestling related death ("Mascara"). Nick, meanwhile, investigates the happenings of a seedy motel over the course of a year ("Turn, Turn, Turn"), and Hodges and Wendy attend a sci-fi convention ("A Space Oddity").

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (season 6)

The sixth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation premiered on CBS on September 22, 2005 and ended May 18, 2006. The series stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger.

Plot

Brass, now partnered with Sofia Curtis, finds himself caught in a shootout that leaves one officer dead, and a Latino community enraged ("A Bullet Runs Through It"), before finding himself critically injured in a hostage standoff ("Bang-Bang"), in the sixth season of CSI. Meanwhile, Grissom and Willows reunite in order to investigate their toughest cases yet, including the death of a movie star ("Room Service"), a corpse discovered at a suburban home ("Bite Me"), a mass suicide at a cult ("Shooting Stars"), and an apparent suicide ("Secrets and Flies"), as Nick comes to terms with his PTSD ("Bodies in Motion"), and later tracks down a missing child ("Gum Drops"). Also this season, Greg hunts the head of a civil war reenactor ("Way to Go"), Grissom investigates the death of a psychic ("Spellbound"), and Sara comes face to face with her toughest adversary yet ("The Unusual Suspect").

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation premiered on October 6, 2000. Since then, fifteen seasons have been broadcast.

The first season consisted of 23 episodes, including a two-part pilot episode written by series creator Anthony Zuiker. Seasons two, three, and four also had 23 episodes each, whilst season five had 25 episodes, including a two-part season finale directed by Quentin Tarantino. During seasons six and seven, the episode count was 24, whilst season eight had 17 episodes due to the WGA strike. Season nine had 24 episodes, whilst season ten returned to the series standard of 23 episodes. Seasons eleven, twelve, thirteen, and fourteen set a new standard of 22 episodes per season, whilst the fifteenth season received a reduced order of 18 episodes. The two-hour series finale was aired on September 27, 2015.

The first nine seasons have been released on DVD in Region 1 and Region 2 territories. Seasons 1, 8 (only in France, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany), 9 (not in Belgium and Germany) and 10 (only in Germany) have been released on Blu-ray Disc. During the course of the series, 337 episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation aired over 15 seasons.
