CD-i Ready

CD-i Ready is a compact disc format for mixing audio and data content on a CD. It was developed by Phillips in 1991, based on the CD-i format.

The CD-i Ready format uses a particular technique to get audio CD players to skip over the CD-i software and data. CD-i Ready places the software and data in the pregap of track 1 (index 0). Since most CD players assume that the pregap area contains only silence, they skip it. Because of this, CD-i Ready was presented as an alternative to CD-i (which stores data in the regular indexes of the first tracks of a disc), which was more compatible with audio CD players.

The term "enhanced CD" is sometimes used to refer to different CD formats that support a mix of audio and data content. Apart from CD-i Ready and CD-i, these formats include mixed mode CDs and the Enhanced Music CD format.

The CD-i Bridge format is similar bridge format in that it is compatible with two specifications, in this case CD-i and CD-ROM.

Philips CD-i

The Philips CD-i (Compact Disc Interactive) is an interactive multimedia CD player developed and marketed by Royal Philips Electronics N.V. This category of device was created to provide more functionality than an audio CD player or game console, but at a lower price than a personal computer with a CD-ROM drive at the time. The cost savings were due to the lack of a hard drive, floppy drive, keyboard, mouse, monitor (a standard television is used), and less operating system software.

In addition to games, educational and multimedia reference titles were produced, such as interactive encyclopedias, museum tours, etc., which were popular before public Internet access was widespread. Competitors included the Tandy VIS and Commodore CDTV.

CD-i also refers to the multimedia Compact Disc standard used by the CD-i console, also known as Green Book, which was developed by Philips and Sony (not to be confused with MMCD, the pre-DVD format also co-developed by Philips and Sony). Work on the CD-i began in 1984 and it was first publicly announced in 1986. The first Philips CD-i player, released in 1991 and initially priced around US$700, was capable of playing interactive CD-i discs, Audio CDs, CD+G (CD+Graphics), Karaoke CDs, Photo CDs and Video CDs (VCDs), though the latter required an optional "Digital Video Card" to provide MPEG-1 decoding.

Catechol 1,2-dioxygenase

Catechol 1,2- dioxygenase (EC 1.13.11.1, 1,2-CTD, catechol-oxygen 1,2-oxidoreductase, 1,2-pyrocatechase, catechase, catechol 1,2-oxygenase, catechol dioxygenase, pyrocatechase, pyrocatechol 1,2-dioxygenase, CD I, CD II) is an enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative ring cleavage of catechol to form cis,cis-muconic acid:

More specifically, 1,2-CTD is an intradiol dioxygenase, a family of catechol dioxygenases that cleaves the bond between the phenolic hydroxyl groups of catechol using an Fe3+ cofactor.

Thus far, 1,2-CTD has been observed to exist in the following species of soil bacteria: Pseudomonas sp.,Pseudomonas fluorescens,Aspergillus niger,Brevibacterium fuscum,Acinetobacter calcoaceticus,Trichosporon cutaneum, Rhodococcus erythropolis,Frateuria sp.,Rhizobium trifolii,Pseudomonas putida,Candida tropicalis,Candida maltose,Rhizobium leguminosarum, and Nocardia sp.. These bacteria subsequently employ 1,2-CTD in the last step of the degradation of aromatic compounds to aliphatic products.

Bang Your Head

by: Quiet Riot

I’m an axe grinder, pile driver
Mama says that I never, never mind her
Got no brains, I'm insane
The teacher says that I'm one big pain
I'm like a lazer, six string razor
I've got a mouth like an alligator
I want it louder, more power
I'm gonna rock it till it strikes the hour
Chorus
Bang your head
Metal health will drive you mad
Bang your head
Metal health will drive you mad
I'm frustrated and out-dated
I really wanna be over-rated
I'm a finder and I'm a keeper
I'm not a loser, and I ain't no weeper
I got the boys to make the noise
Won't ever let up, hope it annoys you
Join the pack fee the crack
Well now you're here, there's no way back!!!!!!
Chorus
Metal health will cure your crazy
Metal health will cure your mad
Metal health is what we all need
It's what you gotta have!!!!!!!
Bang your head wake the dead
We're all metal mad, it’s all you have
So bang your head and raise the dead oh yeah
Metal health it drives you mad, mad, mad, mad
Chorus
(Over chorus to fade..)
Ah get your straightjackets on tonight ohh
The bad boys are gonna set you right
Oh rock on, rock on, rock on
