Bus

A bus (/ˈbʌs/; plural "buses", /ˈbʌsᵻz/, archaically also omnibus, multibus, motorbus, or autobus) is a road vehicle designed to carry many passengers. Buses can have a capacity as high as 300 passengers. The most common type of bus is the single-decker rigid bus, with larger loads carried by double-decker and articulated buses, and smaller loads carried by midibuses and minibuses; coaches are used for longer-distance services. Many types of buses, such as city transit buses and inter-city coaches, charge a fare. Other types, such as elementary or secondary school buses or shuttle buses within a post-secondary education campus do not charge a fare. In many jurisdictions, bus drivers require a special licence above and beyond a regular driver's licence.

Buses may be used for scheduled bus transport, scheduled coach transport, school transport, private hire, or tourism; promotional buses may be used for political campaigns and others are privately operated for a wide range of purposes, including rock and pop band tour vehicles.

National Express West Midlands route 40 is a bus route operating in the West Midlands, England, linking the towns of West Bromwich & Wednesbury.

History

The original service was called the number 10, as this was the route number under West Bromwich Corporation Buses and operated along the same route. The only change to the route is Hollyhedge Road this is now a one way system by the Anchor Pub towards West Bromwich and All Saints from single - dual carriageway. November 2012 seen the 410 renumbered to 40.

Every 12 minutes Mon-Sat, every 30 mins in evenings and Sundays. Suffers competition from Diamond bus.

Bus (Bulgarian: Рейс) is a 1980 satirical play by Bulgarian playwright Stanislav Stratiev. It premiered at Sofia's Satirical Theatre om March 29, 1980. In 2007, the play was presented at the festival in Avignon, France in the French title of L' Autobus.

Plot

Nine people are traveling on a public bus to the city center, but the bus suddenly deviates from its route. Passengers begin to realize that they will never get to where they are going. Fear, panic and terror turn them into transparent humanoid mass. The play then deals with questions facing humanity as they face their impending doom.

Highway

A highway is any public road or other public way on land. It is used for major roads, but also includes other public roads and public tracks: It is not an equivalent term to freeway (motorway), or a translation for autobahn, autoroute, etc.

In North American and Australian English, major roads such as controlled-access highways or arterial roads are often state highways (Canada: provincial highways). Other roads may be designated "county highways" in the US and Ontario. These classifications refer to the level of government (state, provincial, county) that maintains the roadway.

In British English, "highway" is primarily a legal term. Everyday use normally implies roads, while the legal use covers any route or path with a public right of access, including footpaths etc.

Major highways are often named and numbered by the governments that typically develop and maintain them. Australia's Highway 1 is the longest national highway in the world at over 14,500 km or 9,000 mi and runs almost the entire way around the continent. China has the world's largest network of highways followed closely by the United States of America. Some highways, like the Pan-American Highway or the European routes, span multiple countries. Some major highway routes include ferry services, such as U.S. Route 10, which crosses Lake Michigan.
