Burnin' Sneakers is the second studio album by Bomfunk MC's, released in 2002 through Sony Music Entertainment.
Sneakers (also known as athletic shoes, tennis shoes, or trainers) are shoes primarily designed for sports or other forms of physical exercise. Sneakers have evolved to be used for casual everyday activities. The term generally describes a type of footwear with a flexible sole made of rubber or synthetic material and an upper part made of leather or synthetic materials. Examples of such shoes include athletic footwear such as: basketball shoes, tennis shoes, cross trainers and other shoes worn for specific sports.
"Sneakers" is the more common term used in the Northeastern United States and southern Florida. The term is also used in North Carolina. The British English equivalent of "sneaker" in its modern form is "trainer". In some urban areas in the United States, the slang for sneakers is kicks. Other terms include training shoes or trainers (British English), sandshoes, gym boots or joggers (Geordie English in the UK), running shoes, runners or gutties (Canadian English, Australian English, Scottish English and Hiberno-English), sneakers (North American English, Australian English and New Zealand English), tennis shoes (North American English and Australian English), gym shoes, tennies, sports shoes, sneaks, takkies (South African English and Hiberno-English), rubber shoes (Philippine English) or canvers (Nigerian English).
Sneakers (Bulgarian: Кецове, translit. Kecove) is a 2011 Bulgarian adventure film directed by Valeri Yordanov. The film won a Special Mention at the 2011 Moscow International Film Festival. It was also selected as the Bulgarian entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards, but it did not make the final shortlist.
Sneakers, known in Japan as Nezmix (ねずみくす, Nezumikusu), is a video game published by Microsoft Game Studios and developed by Media.Vision for the Xbox. The North American version of the game was sold exclusively at Toys "R" Us retail stores.
In this game, the player takes on the role of a mouse named Apollo. Aided by his fellow rodent friends, Bonnie, Brutus, Watt and Pete, the player's goal is to find and eliminate the rats in your area (the house, back alley, central park, Doshi's cellar and the bridge) in order to find Bonnie's brother, Tiki.
The story begins with a quick shot of a small mouse with a bell on his tail- Tiki -climbing up to the top of a small tower. After viewing some fireworks and a few balloons being thrown up in the air, Tiki falls asleep.
Elsewhere, four mice- Apollo (the leader), Brutus (the muscle), Watt (the gentleman) and Pete (the gut) -find that the provisions that had been set aside in the attic for a party have been absconded with. Naturally upset, everyone begins pointing fingers; thankfully, Apollo finds a more likely cause of the theft, as he spies a sneaky rat crawling around up in the attic. Knowing that rats travel in packs, Apollo rallies his fellow mice and begins the hunt for the whole rat pack. Finding the rats one by one (and knocking a few senseless for good measure), the gang eventually find the commanding officer behind the whole rat invasion hiding in the garage and- following an intense battle between the mice gang and rats -knock him out. Despite the victory, the mice still have no clue who these rats are or what they're up to; however, they are quickly stunned out of their wondering as Bonnie- the local high-society city mouse -comes in, worrying about her brother, Tiki, as he has gone missing. Thinking he's lost in the Back Alley, she joins Apollo's squad and rushes off, allowing the rat officer from earlier (who faked his fainting) to run away.
"Burnin'" is an instrumental house music track from the Daft Punk album Homework. It was the fourth single from the album, released in 1997. The music video for the track was directed by Seb Janiak. The song later had a remix entitled "Extravaganza", created by Korean band BanYa for the dance video game Pump It Up. Elements of "Burnin'" were combined with the song "Too Long" in Daft Punk's live album Alive 2007.
The music video for "Burnin'" pays tribute to Chicago house producers that Daft Punk found inspiration in. The party scene in the video features DJ Sneak, Roger Sanchez, Derrick Carter, Roy Davis Jr., Paul Johnson, Robert Armani and DJ Hyperactive. Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk also make brief cameo appearances in the video as people at the party; Bangalter wears sunglasses and a long-haired, dark wig, while de Homem-Chisto appears in a red suit, sunglasses and blonde wig. The video was shot in Chicago using an office building at One South Wacker Drive as the setting.
