Burka Avenger
Burka Avenger is a multi-award-winningPakistani animated television series created and directed by famous Pakistani rock star and social activist Aaron Haroon Rashid (aka Haroon). It was produced at Unicorn Black Studios in Islamabad, Pakistan. Its first season was aired on Geo Tez of Geo Network TV, while the second season is currently being aired on Nickelodeon.
The show features Jiya, an "inspirational teacher" whose alter ego is a burka-wearing superheroine. Jiya uses "Takht Kabaddi", a special martial art that incorporates books and pens, to fight crime.
The Urdu language series first aired on 28 July 2013. It has also been aired in India on ZeeQ and is gaining success.
Plot
Burka Avenger is set in the fictional town of Halwapur in northern Pakistan. It features a superheroine who wears a burqa as a disguise to conceal her identity while fighting villains. Her alter ego is Jiya, an “inspirational teacher” at an all-girls’ school. Jiya fights corrupt politicians and vengeful mercenaries who attempt to shut down girls’ schools, using “Takht Kabadi”, a martial art that involves throwing books and pens. Together with children 'Ashu', 'Immu' and 'Mooli', the Burka Avenger fights the evil magician 'Baba Bandook', his henchmen and corrupt politician 'Vadero Pajero'.

Avenger (British band)
Avenger are a heavy metal band from Newcastle, England. Associated with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene, they released two albums in the 1980s before splitting up. The band reunited in 2005.
History
Brian Ross, Mick Moore and Gary Young founded Avenger late in 1982 after Ross and Moore's previous group, Blitzkrieg, split up. the group began recording demos, "Hot 'n' Heavy Express", was their first appearance on record, included on a Neat Records compilation EP. Their debut single for Neat, "Too Wild to Tame", followed in October 1983 after the addition of guitarist John Brownless.
Shortly after this, lead singer Brian Ross left the group to join Satan; Satan's singer, Ian Swift, promptly joined Avenger as lead vocalist. Adding guitarist Les Cheetham, they released their first LP, Blood Sports, in 1984. This began a period of the band playing regularly in western Europe at the time a hub of the emerging metal scene
A second album followed shortly after on Neat, entitled Killer Elite along with a three track accompanying video. The group toured the United States in 1986. replacing Les Cheetam with Greg Reiter, The touring duty of the US tour fell to Darren Kurland as drummer . After 4 months returning to England the group broke up, blaming poor record label support preventing the band exploiting their potential in America. Ian Swift joining Atomkraft and Gary later joining Blitzkrieg.
Avenger (Forsyth novel)
Avenger is a political thriller novel by Frederick Forsyth published in September 2003. This was adapted for television in the 2006 film Avenger starring Sam Elliott.
Plot summary
The first act of the novel introduces Calvin Dexter, the main character of the story. Dexter is described as a lawyer in his early fifties with a passion for running triathlons to keep in shape. The book digs into his past and reveals that he is a highly decorated Vietnam War veteran, and that his last tour of duty was as a tunnel rat, an extremely élite and secret task force that climbed deep into the underground catacomb of Vietcong tunnels to hunt down the enemy in their own lairs. He was married and had a daughter who at the age of 16 was lured away and forced into prostitution by Latino gang members and eventually murdered. Dexter hunts down his daughter's killers in Panama and executes them, then returns home only to discover that his beloved wife couldn't deal with the death of their only child, and committed suicide during his absence. He moves away, and becomes only a small town lawyer in his public face. But when the reason and price is right, he transforms himself into the "Avenger" and delivers justice by 'rendering' foreign criminals to the United States (not killing them), so that they will stand trial for their crimes against Americans. Intertwined into the backstory of Calvin Dexter is the narrative of a young American volunteer from a very privileged family who was murdered while delivering aid in Bosnia during the Bosnian War.
