Bumpy Ride

"Bumpy Ride" is a soca song by Swedish-Congolese R&B singer-songwriter Mohombi from his debut studio album, MoveMeant (2011). It was released as his debut single in the United States on 24 August 2010. Written by RedOne, Bilal "The Chef" Hajji, AJ Junior, and Mohombi, and produced by RedOne, it is the first release on RedOne's label 2101 Records, a joint venture with Universal Music. He also released a popular bilingual French/English version for the Francophone markets. The song became a number-one hit in the Netherlands, and a top ten hit in Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, and Sweden.

Critical reception

Paul Lester of The Guardian described the song as a "popped-up dancehall affair wherein Mohombi promises to 'rock' the female subject of his affections 'like a rodeo'."

The Illusion of Safety (The Hoosiers album)

The Illusion of Safety is the second album released by the London based indie pop band The Hoosiers. It was released in the UK on 16 August 2010 and was preceded by the lead single, "Choices" which was released on 1 August 2010. The second single taken from the album was originally expected to be "Unlikely Hero", but Irwin has stated on the Hoosiers' Twitter feed that this plan has been changed, and stated that the band "will let you know what soon."

The album was not as successful as the band's first album, The Trick to Life (2007), which peaked at #1 on the UK Albums Chart. The Illusion of Safety did, however, enter the chart at #10 in the UK, its only chart appearance globally. By 11 April 2011, it had sold 25,872 copies in the UK.

Album information

The writing for The Illusion of Safety began after the success of the band's first album. The band had been one of the best known bands in the UK in 2007 with the success of the singles "Goodbye Mr. A" and "Worried About Ray". The Illusion of Safety was released three years later.

Bumpy Ride (album)

Bumpy Ride is an album released by London indie pop band The Hoosiers. It is a rereleased version of their 2010 album The Illusion of Safety. It was released in the UK on 11 April 2011. The album features 3 new tracks not present on The Illusion of Safety, as well as a cover of Soft Cell's "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye", which was an iTunes-exclusive bonus track from said album. The deluxe version includes a DVD of live versions of some of the tracks.
