Bullseye (The Avengers)

"Bullseye" is the fourth episode of the second series of the 1960s cult British spy-fi television series The Avengers, starring Patrick Macnee and Honor Blackman. It originally aired on ABC on 20 October 1962. The episode was directed by Peter Hammond and written by Eric Paice.

Bullseye (U.S. game show)

Bullseye is an American game show that aired in syndication from September 29, 1980 to September 24, 1982. Jim Lange was the host, and the program was produced by Jack Barry and Dan Enright. Jay Stewart was the announcer for the first season, and Charlie O'Donnell announced for the second season. The series' executive producer was Ron Greenberg.

Gameplay

Main game

Two contestants, one a returning champion, competed. The game began with the champion stopping three spinning windows, set up in a triangular fashion, by hitting a plunger in front of him/her. The top two windows contained eight different categories—four in each window—with dollar amounts ranging from $50 to $200, representing the value of each question in the category. The bottom window was the contract window, and displayed numbers from one to five as well as a bullseye.

When the windows stopped spinning, the contestant chose either of the displayed categories, and had to fulfill the contract by correctly answering the number of questions indicated in the contract window. Each correct answer added the dollar value of the category to a pot. The bullseye represented an unlimited contract, which allowed the contestant who spun it to continue answering questions as long as he/she desired. If a contestant answered incorrectly at any point, the opponent was given a chance to take control of the contract with a right answer. An incorrect answer on a bullseye immediately ended the contract, but the opponent could still take control by giving the correct response. If both contestants missed the same question, it was thrown out and control reverted to the contestant who had originally tried to answer it. The contestant who completed the contract could choose to bank the money in the pot and give up control of the next spin to the opponent, or leave the money in the pot and spin again.

Bilabial clicks

The labial or bilabial clicks are a family of click consonants that sound something like a smack of the lips. They are found as phonemes only in the small Tuu language family (currently two languages, one moribund), in the ǂHõã language of Botswana (also moribund), and in the extinct Damin ritual jargon of Australia. However, bilabial clicks are found paralinguistically for a kiss in various languages, and as allophones of labial–velar stops in some West African languages (Ladefoged 1968), as of /mw/ in some of the languages neighboring Shona, such as Ndau and Tonga.

The symbol in the International Phonetic Alphabet that represents the place of articulation of these sounds is ⟨ʘ⟩. This may be combined with a second letter to indicate the manner of articulation, though this is commonly omitted for tenuis clicks, and increasingly a diacritic is used instead. Bullseye (American Horror Story)

"Bullseye" is the sixth episode of the fourth season of the anthology television series American Horror Story, which premiered on November 12, 2014 on the cable network FX. It was written by John J. Gray and directed by Howard Deutch. In this episode, Elsa (Jessica Lange) prepares to work in television by starting a new act and the sisters settle in their new home.

Plot

Elsa (Jessica Lange) directs the carnie laborers to move a large colored wheel from prop storage into the big top. With a stuffed dummy strapped to the wheel, Elsa gives it a spin and practices throwing knives. Elsa explains that it is for her television program. Ethel (Kathy Bates) worries that with Elsa leaving and Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson) missing that they won't have much of a show left, but Elsa promises that all of them will join her in Hollywood. The carnies have prepared a birthday party with gifts for Elsa, including lingerie and makeup. One surprise is Ma Petite (Jyoti Amge), encased in pink crochet and promising to keep her warm at night. Elsa notices the carnies are gloomy, and they respond that they miss the twins. Elsa is furious, saying that the girls betrayed them and ran off.

Bullseye (mascot)

Bullseye (formerly known as Spot) is a Bull Terrier and the official mascot of Target Corporation. The dog is featured in Target's commercial campaigns and in store sale signage and is used in various marketing campaigns. The dog used in marketing campaigns is often female, but is used to play a male dog character. She has a pure white coat, and has Target Corporation's bullseye logo painted around her left eye hence her name. The makeup used on Bullseye is all natural and non-toxic. Target also offers the dog as a stuffed toy for special events or employee recognition. The original Target dog was American Kennel Club Ch. Kingsmere Moondoggie, affectionately known as "Smudgie." The current mascot is a descendant from the breeder Skyline Bull Terriers, located in Massachusetts.

Bullseye lives on a ranch just north of Los Angeles, belonging to her owner and trainer, David McMillan, operator of Worldwide Movie Animals. The ranch is home to the Target dog Nikki, although Target will not reveal whether this is the nickname of the current Bullseye or her predecessor.

Bullseye (comics)

Bullseye is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. A psychopathic assassin, Bullseye uses the opportunities afforded by his line of work to exercise his homicidal tendencies and to work out his own personal vendetta against Daredevil.

Although he possesses no superpowers, Bullseye is able to use almost any object as a lethal projectile, be it weapons like shuriken and sai or seemingly harmless objects like playing cards and pencils. His marksmanship is uncanny, at a nearly preternatural level, but he has been known to miss moving targets.

In the Daredevil live-action film, the character is portrayed by actor Colin Farrell. Bullseye was 20th in IGN's list of the "Top 100 Comic Book Villains of All Time", and 35th in their list of "The Top 50 Avengers".

Although created by Marv Wolfman and John Romita, Sr., the character's first appearance in Daredevil #131 (March 1976) features art by Bob Brown and Klaus Janson.
