Bu Kadra

Bu Kadra (Arabic: بو كدره‎) is a small, developing locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Bu Kadra is situated south of Dubai Creek, adjacent to Ras Al Khor Industrial Areas. The community is part of Dubai Municipality's expansion, south of the Creek. Historically, Bu Kadra was not a residential area, but housed various community and sports clubs. The Dubai government has undertaken to develop Bu Kadra into Meydan City, a horseracing real estate project.

The name of the locality is derived from a famous individual named Bu Kadra who had been murdered in the area over a hundred years ago. The individual's descendants currently live in Jumeirah.

Kadra Yusuf

Kadra Yosuf also known as Kadra Noor or Kadra Norwegian; (born 16 June 1980) is a Somali-Norwegian activist.

In 2000 she investigated female genital cutting in the Somali community in Norway. Going undercover, she exposed the support of imams in Norway for the practice. For her efforts she received the Fritt Ord Honorary Award, but has since been living in hiding.

In April, 2007 she called to reinterpret the Koran as far as it concerns Muslim women's rights. Several days later she was attacked by a group of Somali immigrants, both male and female, who shouted at her that she was trampling the Koran.
