Bryan Clark

Bryan Emmett Clark (born March 14, 1964) is an American retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his appearances with World Championship Wrestling, the World Wrestling Federation and All Japan Pro Wrestling under the ring names The Nightstalker, Adam Bomb and Wrath and under his own name. He is a former WCW World Tag Team Champion and AJPW World Tag Team Champion.

Professional wrestling career

Early career (1989-1993)

Clark made his wrestling debut in 1989 under the ring name "The Nightstalker", competing in the Minnesota-based American Wrestling Association.

When the AWA folded in 1991, Clark began competing for World Championship Wrestling. He replaced an injured Diamond Studd at Starrcade to team with Rick Steiner in a losing effort to Vader and Mr. Hughes.

Clark joined Smoky Mountain Wrestling and defeated Tracy Smothers to become the promotion's second-ever "Beat The Champ" Television Champion on February 2, 1993. He lost the title to Tim Horner six days later. He also briefly wrestled in Herb Abrams' Universal Wrestling Federation.

Bryan Clark (baseball)

Bryan Donald Clark (born July 12, 1956 in Madera, California) is a former left-handed Major League Baseball pitcher who played from 1981 to 1987, and again in 1990 with the Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox. He attended Fresno Community College. He was 6'2", 185 pounds.

Drafted 226th overall by the Pirates in 1974, Clark proved pretty quickly in the minors that his control was very suspect. For example, in just his second year in the minors, he walked 138 batters in only 131 innings of work. Used mostly as a starter in the minors, he posted ERAs as high as 7.11 with a team in a season, and he walked over 100 batters four times. Even in his best season in the minors, one in which he went 14-5 with a 2.64 ERA, he still walked 112 batters in 167 innings of work.

Although his minor league statistics were not too impressive, Clark still managed to make his major league debut on April 11, 1981 at the age of 24 against the California Angels. Although he was technically a pitcher, he was used in a rather unorthodox way in his debut - the Mariners (who purchased him from the Pirates in 1978) used him as a pinch runner.

Clark (mascot)

Clark is the official team mascot of Major League Baseball's Chicago Cubs. He was announced on January 13, 2014 as the first official mascot in the modern history of the Cubs franchise. He was introduced that day at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center's pediatric developmental center along with some of the Cubs' top prospects such as number one draft pick Kris Bryant and Albert Almora, Jorge Soler, Mike Olt and Eric Jokisch. Over a dozen Cubs prospects were attending the Cubs' Rookie Development Program that week. The Cubs become the 27th team in Major League Baseball to have a mascot, leaving the Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees as the remaining franchises without mascots. According to the Cubs' press release, Clark is a response to fan demands (expressed via surveys and interviews) for more kid-friendly elements at Wrigley Field Cubs games to keep pace with games in other cities that have more to offer youth fans.

Description

He is a "young, friendly Cub" who will wear a backwards baseball cap and greet fans entering Wrigley Field, which is located at the corner of Clark Street (for which he is named) and Addison Street. North Clark Street borders the third base side of Wrigley Field. According to the Cubs, the fictional character Clark is descended from Joa, the franchise's original live Bears mascot in 1916.
