Ünloco are an American metal band formed in Austin, Texas.
Ünloco was formed in 2000 by frontman Joey Duenas. That same year, the band released a six-track EP titled Useless through Captiva Records.
The band was signed by Madonna's Maverick Records label and on March 20, 2001, Unloco released their debut album Healing produced by Johnny K. The album struggled to sell, and the band's future with their label was uncertain.
Soon after, guitarist Brian Arthur left to join Goldfinger, and was replaced by Marc Serrano.
Their second effort, Becoming i, was released on March 11, 2003, and was produced by Andrew Murdock – responsible for Powerman 5000, Godsmack, and Chimaira, among other artists. During said year, the band toured with such household names as Korn, opened for Music as a Weapon II, and appeared at Ozzfest 2003. Despite the push from their label, Becoming i failed to meet expectations, and the band split up that same year.
Since then, guitarist Marc Serrano joined the now disbanded A Dozen Furies, drummer Pete Navarrete formed a band called Exit the Sun, and vocalist Joey Duenas formed a band called Anew Revolution, featuring members from Slaves on Dope. The band released a five-track self-released EP in 2005. They also released Rise in 2008 and iMERICA in 2010.
A bruise, or contusion, is a type of hematoma of tissue in which capillaries and sometimes venules are damaged by trauma, allowing blood to seep, hemorrhage, or extravasate into the surrounding interstitial tissues. Bruises, which do not blanch under pressure, can involve capillaries at the level of skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscle, or bone. Bruises are not to be confused with other similar-looking lesions primarily distinguished by their by their diameter or causation. These lesions include petechia (< 3 mm result from numerous and diverse etiologies such as adverse reactions from medications such as warfarin, straining, asphyxiation, platelet disorders and diseases such as cytomegalovirus),purpura (3 mm to 1 cm, classified as palpable purpura or non-palpable purpura and indicates various pathologic conditions such as thrombocytopenia), and ecchymosis (>1 cm caused blood dissecting through tissue planes and settled in an area remote from the site of trauma or pathology such as periorbital ecchymosis, i.e.,"raccoon eyes" , arising from a basilar skull fracture or from a neuroblastoma).
"Bruises" is a song by American pop rock band Train from their sixth studio album, California 37. The song features American country singer Ashley Monroe. It was released as the album's third single on October 5, 2012. "Bruises" was re-recorded with French-Canadian singer Marilou in both English and French for its Canadian single release.
In an interview with Radio.com, Monahan said that he had met Ashley Monroe when she was 19, and she wanted to write a song with him, which they eventually did through a contact in Columbia Records. Monahan said that he wrote the song in New York, and it was about running into former high school classmates: "I run into people I went to high school with and realize how much older we are, and how much more we’ve been through and a lot of it isn’t all that fun and it makes us more beautiful if you can see it that way. That song was really easy to write because it is a very true story and Ashley was the perfect girl to sing on it."
"Bruises" is the first single from Brooklyn-based band Chairlift's debut album Does You Inspire You. Bruises was featured in a commercial for Apple's 4th generation iPod Nano, and in "Walter's Walk", the second episode of the USA Network series Covert Affairs. A music video for "Bruises" was released on June 5, 2009.
Village Voice Media contributor John Hood called the song "distinctly dreamy", "utterly damaging" and "nothing short of astounding".
Please leave me alone
For I cannot let this go
It's the lie that I live
Everything that I give
Shut the fuck up!
Please tell me that I have grown
For I have bruises left to show
And I fall in between everything
Let me see
Come on get up
Let me see your bruises
'Cause I will never let you know
'Cause I will never let you go
Please leave me alone
Let me see, let me see, let me see
Come on get up
