Brilliant!

Brilliant! was a group exhibition of contemporary art held at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, USA between 22 October 1995 and 7 January 1996. The exhibition then traveled to the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Texas - where it was on view between 17 February and 14 April 1996.

Theme and content

The exhibition sought to showcase a burgeoning group of English artists now known as the YBAs. The Walker's press material, defining the criteria for selection of artists in the exhibition, says:

Brilliant, stylised as Brill!ant is the eleventh studio album by the British synthpop band Ultravox, released on 25 May 2012 by Chrysalis Records. It is the first new album in 28 years by the classic Ultravox line-up of Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Warren Cann and Chris Cross, the last one being 1984's Lament. The title track of the album was announced as the lead single, which premiered on 17 April 2012 on BBC Radio 2.

Brilliant debuted at number twenty-one on the UK Albums Chart, selling 6,100 copies in its first week, but received mixed reviews from critics.

Busted (2002 Busted album)

Busted is the self-titled debut studio album by English pop punk band Busted. It was released in the UK in September 2002 and peaked at #2 the following January after the success of second single "Year 3000", which reached #2 on the UK Singles Chart.

Background

The first single released from the album was "What I Go to School For", which reached #3. This was followed by "Year 3000", which reached #2, "You Said No" and "Sleeping with the Light On". "You Said No" peaked at #1 and "Sleeping with the Light On" peaked at #3. A European only single, "Hurra Hurra Die Schule Brennt", was released on the same date as You Said No was released in the UK. Busted was the 8th best-selling album of 2003 in the UK. The album has been certified as 3x Platinum in the UK. The album spent 77 weeks on the UK Top 75 Albums chart. Six tracks were co-written with John McLaughlin and Steve Robson. The other remaining songs were written by the band themselves. who often collaborate with each other. Both "What I Go to School For" and "Year 3000" were covered by the Jonas Brothers, and released on their 2006 album It's About Time.

Busted (horse)

Busted (1963–1988) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire who began his career in Ireland but had his greatest success when trained in Britain. After running without distinction in Ireland in 1965 and 1966 he was transferred to England, where his form improved enormously. In 1967 he was undefeated in four races, winning the Eclipse Stakes and the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes and being voted Horse of the Year. After his racing career was ended by injury he was retired to stud, where he proved to be a highly successful sire of winners.

Background

Busted was a "big, handsome" bay horse bred by his owner, Stanhope Joel's Snailwell Stud. He was sired by the 1957 Epsom Derby winner Crepello out of the mare Sans le Sou. Joel bought Sans le Sou for 750 guineas after an undistinguished racing career which was hampered by a tendency to break blood-vessels. Joel sent the colt to be trained in Ireland by R.N. "Brud" Fetherstonhaugh.

Busted (Cheap Trick album)

Busted is an album by Cheap Trick, which was released in 1990 and peaked at #44 on the US album charts. After the success of "The Flame" from the previous album Lap of Luxury, the band recorded Busted with a similar format, especially on the single "Can't Stop Fallin' Into Love." The single peaked at #12 on the US charts. The album failed to be as successful as the label had hoped, and about a year after the release of Busted Epic Records dropped Cheap Trick from their label. There were three videos shot for this LP; "Can't Stop Fallin' Into Love," "If You Need Me," and "Wherever Would I Be."

After being out of print for several years, the album was reissued in 2010 and combined onto one disc with the Found All The Parts EP from 1980, which made little sense since Found All The Parts was already available as bonus tracks on the 2006 reissue of the 1980 album All Shook Up. "Everything Works If You Let It", a track recorded for the soundtrack to the 1980 film Roadie, and the 1990 B-side "Big Bang" were also included on the disc.
