Park Ki-woong

Park Ki-woong (born February 13, 1985) is a South Korean actor. He is best known for the TV series The Slingshot (2009) and Bridal Mask (2012), as well as the films My Tutor Friend 2 (2007) and Secretly, Greatly (2013).

Career

Park Ki-woong made his entertainment debut in the 2004 K2 music video "Giving You Love," then launched his acting career in 2005. He rose to stardom for being the "mill dance (맷돌춤)" guy in a 2006 SKY PMP Phone commercial. After a series of supporting roles on TV and film, Park starred in his first leading role in the 2007 romantic comedy My Tutor Friend 2, but the film wasn't commercially successful. In 2008, he became the honorary ambassador of his hometown Andong.

The Slingshot (2009) gave Park his first acting accolades. Critics and viewers praised his portrayal of an autistic genius who transforms into the best stock market analyst in the country. His other notable roles include an invading Manchurian prince in period action film War of the Arrows (2011); a sociopathic Japanese officer in colonized Korea in Bridal Mask (2012); and an elite North Korean spy undercover as a rock musician in box office hit Secretly, Greatly (2013).

Han Chae-ah

Han Chae-ah (born Kim Kyung-ha on March 24, 1982) is a South Korean actress. She is best known for her 2012 television dramas, playing a detective in Hero, and a Japanese collaborator in Bridal Mask.

Bridal Mask

Bridal Mask (Hangul: 각시탈; RR: Gaksital) is a 2012 KBS2 period drama based on the popular Korean manhwa by Huh Young-man. The setting takes place in Seoul, Korea during the 1930s Japanese colonial era.

The plot of the TV drama is slightly modified from the original graphic novel. The story follows a man named Lee Kang-to, a Korean police officer commissioned by the Japanese Police to betray his own country and aid the Japanese in the annihilation of the Korean rebellion. During his mission, he encounters a notorious masked man who dons a traditional Korean bridal mask to fight for Korea's independence by assassinating Japanese key officers. As the detective's hunt for "Gaksital" ("Bridal Mask") unravels, his eyes are slowly opened to the treacherous deeds he has committed towards his own countrymen. It stars Joo Won and Jin Se-yeon as the leads and with Shin Hyun-joon as the notorious masked hero of the Korean rebellion and brother to the main character.

Plot

Two brothers - Lee Kang-to and Lee Kang-san – live in Seoul in the 1930s, oppressed under Imperial Japanese rule. Kang-to, the younger brother, is a rising star in the police force and works with the Japanese police to capture “Bridal Mask,” a mysterious freedom fighter who fights for independence wearing a Korean Bridal Mask. Later when Lee Kang-to’s life is turned upside down, he dons the Bridal Mask and fights injustice and rights wrongs against the Japanese during one of the darkest periods of Korea’s history.

Joo Won

Joo Won (Hangul: 주원; born Moon Jun-won, September 30, 1987) is a South Korean actor. He is best known for starring in King of Baking, Kim Takgu, Ojakgyo Family, Bridal Mask, Good Doctor, Yong-pal, and Fatal Intuition.

Early life

Moon Jun-won was born in Seoul, South Korea. The youngest in the family, he takes after his father in terms of personality while his physical appearance mirrored that of his mother. His mother has tried out for a talent search during her younger days, passing two out of three examinations.

When he was eight, his parents sent him and his brother abroad to study in the U.S. However, they came back to Korea after just six months. Joo Won revealed, "If I'd known, I would have stayed a little longer".

Due to his introvert nature, his parents encouraged him to join plays in the third year of middle school. He joined an Arts and Drama high school - later revealed to be Kaywon High School of Arts - and continued his education on Theatre and Arts in Sungkyunkwan University. In 2013, Joo Won announced that he will be furthering his studies at Konkuk University.

Jin Se-yeon

Jin Se-yeon (born Kim Yoon-jung on February 15, 1994) is a South Korean actress. She played the female protagonist in the television dramas Bridal Mask (2012) and Doctor Stranger (2014).
