Brian Tee

Brian Tee (born March 15, 1977) is a Japanese American actor, best known for his role as D.K. (a.k.a. The Drift King) in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and as Dr. Ethan Choi in Chicago Med.

Early life

Tee was born in Okinawa, to a Ryukyuan -American father and Korean mother. At the age of two, he moved to Hacienda Heights, California, and was raised there ever since. He attended Glen A. Wilson High School where he was Associated Student Body president and captain of the football team. While in high school, he worked at Blackjack Pizza. He graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Theater/Performance Arts. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, playing sports, and practicing martial arts. He speaks fluent Korean, Japanese, and English.

Career

Tee also played Kazu, the owner of Sushi Rox, on Nickelodeon's Zoey 101. He played Eddie Choi in Crash. He also starred as Akira Kimura on Grimm and Takeda on Burn Notice. He also appeared in the season 4 episode "The Girl in the Mask" as Ken Nakamura on the series Bones. He has also played Dwayne Archimedes in the indie Feature film Roswell FM. Tee has also appeared in an episode in the first season of the television series Dark Blue as a Korean criminal. He also had a short part in Austin Powers in Goldmember as a pedestrian ("Run! It's Goldzilla!"; "Still we should run like it is Godzilla!"). Brian can also be seen on an episode of Hollywood Squares presented by Tom Bergeron playing in 1999 against a woman named Heidi.

Brian Tee (politician)

Brian Lennox Tee (born 19 January 1969) is an Australian politician. He was an Australian Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Council from 2006 to 2014, representing the Eastern Metropolitan Region.

Tee was born in South Africa and educated in Western Australia, and attended All Saints' College and the University of Western Australia, where he studied law. He subsequently gained admission as a solicitor, and practised with a commercial firm in Perth from 1992 to 1995. He was employed as an industrial officer by the Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union from 1995 to 1999, and after a year in private practice, was employed by the Victorian Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development. In 2003, he shifted to the office of Attorney-General, Minister for Industrial Relations and Minister for Planning Rob Hulls, where he worked as a senior adviser until his own election to parliament.

Tee contested and won preselection in the second position on the ALP ticket in the Eastern Metropolitan Region for the Legislative Council in the leadup to the 2006 state election, beating out incumbent MLC Helen Buckingham, who subsequently announced her intention to retire. Tee was duly elected on election day. Although his former employer, Hulls, is from the right-wing Labor Unity faction, Tee is associated with the party's rival Socialist Left faction.
