Brian Perry (veterinarian)

Professor Brian Derek Perry, OBE (born 11 March 1946) is a British veterinary surgeon and epidemiologist renowned for the integration of veterinary epidemiology and agricultural economics, as a tool for disease control policy and strategy development, and specialised in international agricultural development. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh, a Visiting Professor at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Oxford, He lives in the Rift Valley of Kenya.

Early life and education

Brian Perry is from a farming family in Norfolk and was educated at Town Close School, Norwich and Wymondham College, Norfolk. He studied veterinary medicine at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Edinburgh and graduated as a veterinary surgeon in 1969. He later completed a Diploma in Tropical Veterinary Medicine (1971), an MSc in Tropical Veterinary Science (1975), and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (1987), all at the University of Edinburgh.

Brian Perry (ice hockey)

Brian Thomas Perry (born 6 April 1944 in Aldershot, England, United Kingdom and raised in Teck, Ontario) is a former professional ice hockey left wing. He played in the National Hockey League with the Oakland Seals and Buffalo Sabres, as well as in the World Hockey Association with the New York Raiders, New York Golden Blades, New Jersey Knights, and San Diego Mariners.

In his NHL career, Perry played in 96 games, scoring 16 goals and adding 29 assists. In the WHA, he played in 145 games, scoring 33 goals and adding 31 assists.

Brian James Perry (born 3 June 1943) is a former English cricketer. Perry was a left-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium. He was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

Perry made his debut for Shropshire in the 1970 Minor Counties Championship against Lincolnshire. Perry played Minor counties cricket for Shropshire from 1970 to 1986, which included 134 Minor Counties Championship appearances and 4 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. He made his List A debut against Essex in the 1974 Gillette Cup. He made 4 further List A appearances for the county, the last of which came against Warwickshire in the 1984 NatWest Trophy. In his 5 List A matches for Shropshire, he scored 79 runs at an average of 19.75, with a high score of 43. With the ball, he took 7 wickets at a bowling average of 15.28, with best figures of 4/39.

In 1975, he played a single match for Minor Counties North against Derbyshire in the Benson & Hedges Cup. In this match, he scored 8 not out.
