Brian McGuire

Brian McGuire (13 December 1945 in East Melbourne – 29 August 1977 at Brands Hatch, UK) was a racing driver and constructor from Australia.

Racing career

McGuire travelled over to the UK from Australia with another hopeful young driver, Alan Jones, but did not enjoy his countryman's success. McGuire entered two Formula One British Grands Prix. With his privately run Williams FW04 at the 1976 British Grand Prix, he found himself as a reserve entry and was denied a chance to compete.

For the 1977 race, he modified his Williams FW04 and renamed it the McGuire BM1, but failed to pre-qualify. McGuire was killed practicing this car during a Shellsport G8 Championship race at Brands Hatch later that year.

Brian McGuire (born March 4, 1975) is an American actor/writer/musician/DJ/producer, most notable for the indie comedy/romance directed by Alex Holdridge, In Search of a Midnight Kiss, a black-and-white movie that mixes the sensibilities of films like Clerks, Swingers, and Before Sunset. McGuire worked as a painter and a book binder in Austin, Texas until he found acting. McGuire booked over fifty roles between 1995 and 1999 in such films as Jesus Of Judson written by Bryan Poyser and directed by Jacob Vaughn in 1996. He also starred in Greg Gilpatrick's Appetite for Construction in 1999 winning The Best Actor Award at The Cinema Texas Film Festival. Appetite For Construction went on to air on The Sundance Channel for 2 years.

In March 1999, McGuire moved to Los Angeles and became a professional DJ in the underground electro scene until 2003 when he went back to Austin, Texas to play the part of "Robert" in Alex Holdridge's 2nd feature Sexless, the only film to have won both the jury and audience award at the South by Southwest Film Festival.
